A guy at work turned me on to this RB's numbers from this year, and I've gotta say that he pretty much blows everyone else away. His yards/game and yards/carry are excellent. He is listed at 6'1 235 and he seems fairly complete. No, he doesn't have elite speed, but he has the size to be a bruiser, and if you watch highlights of him, he seems to flow perfectly with his O-line. He initiates contact when he needs to and avoids it when he can. I see where he is projected as a 3rd rounder on some sites, and with some people jumping off the Ronnie Brown bandwagon, perhaps this guy would be a suitable replacement. Let Ricky feature for a year and bring Gerheart in gradually.

And if you think I'm just blowing smoke, check out his highlights:

Stanford's schedule was far from weak, and he performed well in every game. I think he should definitely garner more than casual interest, and I would love to see him in aqua and orange.

His running style reminds me a bit of John Riggins. He is as physical a runner as I've seen come out of the draft in a while.

he is an all around good guy who i will root for regardless of what team he ends up on.

Runs with his pad level too high and his running style is way too high. Quite slow as well.

Reminds me a better version of Brian Leonard.

ricky doesn't want the feature role, however this would make for an interresting replacement for ricky after the 2010 season... he seems like he could be a real head turner i wouldn't be opposed to spending a third on the kid if we settle some of the other more pressing needs first

As much as it pains me to agree with someone called Robert Horry....you're absolutely right.

Gerhardt doesn't get low enough and isnt fast at all. To me he's destined to be a Mike Alstott type, a great compliment back, but not a feature back. He runs with a lot of grit and is a hardnosed player, but not someone i think would really help our team at this point.

If he is available as a 3rd rounder, & we have picked up 2 starting caliber LB/DE players, then yep, i'd grab him.

He may run high, but he has a nice change of direction, looks like good vision, runs tough and could be a very very good backup to RB & RW.

Any idiots that are jumping off the Ronnie Brown bandwagon will soon be begging to be let back on.

An eventual replacement for Ricky? Maybe.

bingo...and he took a ton of contact in college...how you think he's gonna fare in that respect against bigger and faster competition in the nfl???

And players are just going to tackle him in a second. Look at Lex Hilliard who runs with a high pad level. Not saying they are similar talent wise, but Hilliard runs with a high pad level and is taken down usually on first hit, despite his power running style. Its only when he gets low does he break tackles.

i like him as a college player dont really want him on the fins i dont think he can outrun or run over people in the nfl

he shows tremendous ballance for a player running so high... he looks a lot like a scrambling qb... i wouldn't mind the kid in a backup role... he needs to learn to lower his shoulders a bit before he can become a feature back though... i know we will be looking to replace ricky soon, so this kid could be it if he adjusts his running style a little... i wouldn't take him any earlier than the third or fourth, because he is a project

He lowers his shoulders when he needs to. He can run around or over defenders. He does not have great speed but he has good size. He has a future in the NFL.

he's gonna get punished in the NFL. i like him and hope the best for him but don't want him on the fins.

Gerhart is a better football player, than a talent, however he is close to what we have in Lex Hillard,so I really cant see him in Miami anytime soon.

Miami needs a shifty, speed back that can run between the tackles, and Gerhart isnt that guy...
