Moving the Chains on the NFL station sirius 124 always has some nice comments about the fins. Today, some jagoff JETS fan called in and said how the East was a 2 team division JETS/PATS. Pat Kirwin (I beleive he is the host?) said what about the fins and this guy said overhyped.

They then went back and forth a little bit and the hosts stopped the caller and said "hey we just want u to back up your words." Better QB combo - Pennington/Ramsey or Culpepper/Harrington? THe guy said PEnn then said at 90% he is still one of the best QB's the hosts fired back at 100% he is average. (Gotta love it!!!!)

Wr's COles/??? vs Chambers/booker - RB ROnnie BRown/Curtis Martin

so on and so on just shows you what idiots Jets fans are and you had to hear them put this guy in his place - made my day.

Some people are so into their teams rivalries that they just completely disregard their rivals, and say that they stink because it is their rival. I for one was pleasantly surprised we won 9 games last year. i thought we would finish 3rd in the east with 6 wins. I thought the Jets and Pats would beat us. Some people just aren't as open minded as others, and they look like complete idiots because of it.

Yeah, I always hear them talk about how Mangini has them going in the right direction. He had a great draft... yadda yadda yadda.. but make no mistake: They say they are rebuilding and will be lucky to win 5-6 games this year.

Annnnnnd lovin' it!

I agree they had a good draft, and IF Pennington is healthy they can win some games. I still don't see a possibility that they win 7 games though this year.

Yeah, maybe they will have a little reality check as they try and piece together a very young OL. I heard Pennington is bulking up a little so he can take the extra hits.

that's great...love to see em get roasted!

im sorry to let you all in on this, but that team is definately going in the right direction. after that draft im a little concerned that in the future, they will be a force to be reconed with. i sincerely enjoy the fact that they havent been to a superbowl since before man walked on the moon, and i dont want that to change. i hope nothing but misfortune on them in the future, but time is on their side. the jets fans are a hysterical bunch, you can make all the arguments in the world against them, like one superbowl appearance, and only 3 members being in the hall, and the fact that they play in new jersey...not new york, and that they actually play in another teams stadium, and that jow namath had more interceptions than touchdowns and use to wear womens stocking in commercials, and that their colors look lke the first owner of the team had a drunken night and threw up into a toxic waste bin and he looked down and say....hey that would look nice on a jersey. you can argue all that and the only thing they could say is " dan morino neva wun a reeng bro"

I'd like to debate the "greatness" of the Jets draft. I think Ferguson was solid and good value, though I don't think he's Ogden, Pace or WJones. Mangold was good. Beyond that, the Jets did some serious reaching - Clemens, the Safety from Michigan State, Schlegel, Brad Smith from Missouri(a project at best) were all arguablely taken way too soon. And questions remain:
1: Who will be running the ball when this new team is poised to challenge- Martin?
2: who's going to catch the ball at the WR position? Coles is adequate and has his days, but he's not a pro-bowler...
3: And most importantly, who is the franchise QB that's going to carry this team? Pennington? Jury's out.
I hate the Jets as much as anybody and have a tough time being objective about them, but I am not willing, at this point, to buy into their hype until they do something. Mangini may do everything like Belichick does it, but until he wins he's nothing but a cheap 35 year old imitation.
We'll see about the Jets.

the thing is taht there is no such thing as a healthy pennington, jet fans are kidding themselves if they think they are actually going to be in a race for the division next year

Living on Long Island and having to deal with Jets fans all the time, I think that they did have a good draft & without tearing the whole thing down, are on their way back up, although I don't think they'll have quite the turnaround that we did last year. Not only are they rebuilding their team, they've done a pretty good job with the front office as well. The worst thing they did was pass on a QB in this years draft.

While they've gone & plucked someone from Bill's Coaching tree, I think they'r still dealing with an acorn. I think the simple fact that Mangini was "Fast Tracked" into a head coaching job will ultimately be their downfall.

Weiss & Crenell paid their dues for YEARS as Cordinators. Saban, in the College ranks. The Great Mangini may have a solid coaching future (Saban was hot to get him to be our DC last year), but there will be a few years of growing pains & I'd be surprised if he ever has the time/opportunity to be successful in NY.

hey. no prob. once he goes down in flames in ny. wont be his fault. hes not experienced. plus ny just kills souls.

he can come work for nick as assistant to capers.

Seeing as how Pat Kirwin was a former GM of NYJ, I like it especially. Whether it was Tim Ryan or Pat Kirwin, they have the best radio show that focuses on football. They don't dance around the issues, and Pat offers some serious insight on things that you wouldn't normally think of. Seriously, my Sirius radio doesn't leave 124, and I always catch their show during my lunch break.
