Back with some more things from Sirius radio.

The Jets and Lions are discussing a trade that would send Jon Vilma and picks to Detroit in return for the number 2 overall pick.

The Browns are officially out of the Joey Porter sweepstakes after signing Antawn Peek.

Feel that Porter will be a Dolphin, but they won't totally commit to that yet. The reason they favor Miami isn't because of Capers, but because Mueller has talked to Porter everyday since his release. There were rumors, but this can't be confirmed, that Porter met with Mueller yesterday.

SanFran might be done with the big spending after signing Ashlie Leslie.

Ken Hamlin has atleast 3more visits set up after meeting with both the Panthers and the Saints over the last couple of days. One of the teams is reportedly the Dolphin.

Cooper Carlisle did meet with Miami on Friday, but don't expect a deal to bemade yet.

Several teams are interested in Randy McMichael, most noteably the New Orleans Saints and Seattle Seahawks, but the Saints do not want to give up a 3rd for Randy so Miami might need to lower their asking price. The Seahawks aren't going to offer a 3rd since they don't have a first round pick either, but they won't even discuss a trade until after they meet with Daniel Graham.

If Kevin Curtis leaves Detroit without a contract, he (Scheffter) would be shocked. If he somehow does leave Miami,Houston, and Carolina are interested but no meetings have been scheduled.

Several underrated free agents like Napolean Harris,Anthony Adams, and Nick Harper have not garnered a lot of interest yet, but many feel that they could be the best signings.

SanFran is pretty upset they lost out on Thomas. They're happy they got Clement but wanted, and needed, Thomas more.

Leonard Davis will probably be a Redskin this time tomarrow.

More to come later on...

More good news, thanks for the update.

Mueller must really want Porter if he has been calling him everyday since his release. Granted it's only been two days but sometimes that's enough to impress a player.

Great news, thanks for the heads up man.

Vilma will really help that sad Lions' defense, that could be an interesting move.

I would be very happy with getting Kevin Curtis, he would replace Welker very nicely if Hagan isn't ready to be the number 3 yet.

I'm not to sure how I feel on Cooper Carilise. Does any body have any info on him? I know he's been in that zone blocking system forever, I wonder how he would transistion into Houck's system.

Thanks! A few questions...

Was it Schefter providing all of this information?

Why did he not think a deal with Carlisle would be made (i.e. did he specify if it was the money, or what was keeping a deal from happening?)

Hamlin has been a FA i have thought we should target all along - team him with Yeremiah Bell and then you have the option of moving Renaldo Hill or Jason Allen to "star" back.

Keep us updated!

Good news, Porter would be a nice addition, provided we dont overpay (to much, you ALWAYS pay for FAs) and he keeps his big mouth shut and plays.
Hamlin intrigues me as well, any thought to him playing CB? Or would we pair him with Bell and move Allen to CB?

Curtis would be a nice WR for our deep threat, but yeah, Detroit should get him.

Interesting news on the Lions-Jets trade rumor. I wonder if we would start looking to move up with that extra second we are getting for Wes. Moving to #'s 2-4 would be great, the question then being, QUinn, Johnson or Thomas.

Any word on who the Jets are looking at for #2? Id have to think either CJ, Quinn/Russel or AP.

Ugh, I don't want the Jets having the #2 overall pick. Thats scary.

Porter would be a huge addition... we would easily have the best linebacking crew in the NFL with Porter, Thomas, and Crowder. Throw JT and a young Roth into the mix to give defenses hell.

We need to get into this FA race... we're losing out on some major talent!!

Apparently some people need a lesson in Jets' first round picks. They hardly ever get it right. I would love to see them with the number tw overall to watch them pick Joe Thomas or something to that effect after picking up Ferguson last year.

I don't want to see the Jets get a crack at the top of the draft, but I don't want to give up picks to get up there either. We need too many people to trade multiple picks.

Yes it was Schefter

-Carlisle deal won't happen yet because Miami is hesitant to sign a 290 lb guard, but now that Dielman resigned with SD, a deal could get done

a bit more info

Now that Dielman has been signed, Miami should be a bit more active. If they aren't it means that they're going heavy after Porter.

Mueller will listen to offers for anybody not named Jason Tayor,Zach Thomas,Ronnie Brown, or Channing Crowder.

Vikings could trade for Harrington if they can't get Matt Schaub.

Lelie signing in SanFran, and Welker signing the offer sheet with NE, Donte Stallworth has seen his stock fall a bit. He could wait to see if Miami matches the offer sheet, but his agent doesn't want to wait that long.

The Titans or the Fins are the best fits for Stallworth. The Titans need an explosive WR on their roster after losing Drew Bennett, and Stallworth is a local kid. Stallworth in Miami would allow Chambers to move to the slot, and Stallworth to play the flank.

Stunned Smoot got a 5 year contract with Washington, and McIntosh got a 6 year deal with KC.

Bengals were interested in Joey Porter, but Marvin Lewis put his foot down saying the Bengals need to improve their image.

Donnie Edwards and Steve Foley have both contacted Cam Cameron and Wade Phillips about working out for their new teams.

Except that with Mangini and Tannenbaum they appear to actually have a couple of guys that know what they're doing.

Hamlin is strictly a safety. If we were to sign him, Bell would probably be allowed to walk.
