Todd Bolwes talking to Raiders

I'm surprised fisher hasn't interviewed in oak town. Qb, two stud rbs, a good defense and no al Davis.

Fisher would be paid one of the lowest salaries in the league if he went to Oakland.

I really dont want to lose Bowles. I want this guy to be our new DC. He took over playcalling the second half of the season and the team really responded. I want this guy in Miami, but if he is offered a HC job...then good for him.

Daboll???

or are you thinking about the final 3 games???

Apparently something around the 5th or 6th game he took over playcalling from Nolan. It was never comfirmed but that's the rumor and one of the main reasons he was interm coach and not Nolan.

Poor Rooney.
I think one day he will get hired though. Maybe in like 5 years.

I think they were interviewing Winston Moss, at least it was rumored. So this really might be genuine interest.

Where did you hear this? I ask only because I never heard this... not saying you're wrong.

You do realize that the guy they are rumored to be wanting to hire is Winston Moss, who is black. Don't you?

So, there is no need for them to fulfill the Rooney Rule requirement.

Todd Bowles has an indirect connection with Reggie McKenzie. He was teammates with Reggie's brother Raliegh in Washington, and when Todd was with the 49ers in 1991, Reggie was in camp with that team as a linebacker. Also, the CEO of the Packers is Mark Murphy, who worked with Reggie the past few years and was teammates with Todd Bowles with the Redskins.

No matter how much you guys try to minimize Todd Bowles, the guy is a legitimate head coaching candidate in this league. I'd have absolutely no issue with Miami hiring him.

I don't see any way Nolan got stripped of play-calling duties. If he had, he'd have left by now.

Also, Bowles got the interim job because of two things:
-His title included Assistant Head Coach so it'd look bad if he didn't
-It allowed the Dolphins to satisfy the Rooney Rule by interviewing the interim guy

I dont have the link, but I read about it right after Miami had turned down the Rams to interview Bowles for HC. They said the main reason for turning them down was b/c they are/were highly considering Bowles as a HC for the phins, due to how well he did after taking over play calling after the 5h or 6th game and the response from the players to him. That's also one of the reasons why they made him interm HC not Nolan. The players really like the guy.

I think you're mistaken. I'd also pretty much guarantee you Bowles has never been under serious consideration to be the Dolphins' head coach. He was interviewed as a courtesy and to satisfy the Rooney Rule, but he had about as much chance of getting the job as I did.
