Hey Fin Fans,

Didn't see this posted.

To summarize, tomorrow is going to be a big test for all three Qbs and Beck has to have a big day to get back in contention!

Man I hope Beck turns it on... Or even Henne. Am I the only one who feels if Mcown wins the job we will be mediocre at best?

Actually, I feel that if Beck wins the job, we will be "awful" at best. see last season.

Fortunately we dont have to worry about Beck winning the job based on the fact he is simply incapable of performing well enough given his skill level to beat out both a decent journyman who has the potential to be pretty good(maybe) and a stud rookie who has all the tools and will eventually be the QB we've needed for years.

But, youre right. If we did have to start Beck we would have no shot at being successful in winning one game. Beck could start for the patriots and they would go 0-16.

Sure Beck might not be having the best week of practice. But he probably has the most upside..imo

Henne being a rookie should just learn for a year and not been thrown in the fire like Beck was last year.

Mcown has actually been on some teams with some good skill offensive people around him and still not been that impressive. With AZ he had boldin and fitzgerald. Oakland, he had porter, ronald curry. I am not saying oakland and AZ are world champs, but for his career he has 35 td's and 40 interceptions... ouch.

Mr Ed, you say our team will be awfull with Beck and say refer to last year. I don't see how thats fair when Beck did not practice with the starters all year and cameron throws him into the starting lineup at Philly (great call by the way cameron). Beck had no ronnie, jesse chatman, chambers and got thrown in the worst possible position, and you wanted him to be Peyton Manning? If Beck doesn't pick it up over the first couple preseason games, then I will concede he's not quite ready or just not the right guy for our system. But lets not make a decision based off last year and the worst dolphins team in history.

looking forward to seeing this competition unfold for the next few weeks. tomorrows "scrimmage" is a great opporunity for someone to step up and stand out as the best of the three. still lots of time for things to change though, pretty interesting camp for the quarterbacks huh.

After a 1-15 season, isn't mediocre what we're looking for this season?

were rebuilding so i would rather put henne or beck in there preferably henne. mcown hasnt shown much when he started before, so lets start one of the young guys.

I think McCown can be better than mediocre because he plays hard with a lot of heart and the team, coaches, and fans will respond to this type of play.He may not have the prettiest stats but he can move and inspire a team and those leadership skills can rally wins. We need a guy with fire all the greats play with a lot of emotion.

If things are indeed as bad as they're sounding out of camp, then I'm starting to think that our weekly game plan will break down something like this:

Miami offensive plays per game: 73
----------------------------------
Running plays: 50 per game
Passing plays: 23 per game
Brown: 28 rushes
Williams: 17 rushes
Parmele: 5 rushes
McCown or Beck:
5-10 yards - 15 throws per game
10-25 yards - 5 throws per game
25+ yards - 3 throws per game

If Ronnie's 100%, does anyone else see it breaking down about like that? :err:

The bias on this board is amazing. I don't care who the QB is as long as the team wins. You should think about that MrEd and WVdolphan.

MrED doesn't know football Beck or any other qb would have failed on our sad team last year.
