Very soft-spoken and seems like a guy that really doesn't like to give interviews.

I did like the part where he said that him and Merling will be giving offensive lineman a hard time this year....he ended the sentence with a pretty sinister chuckle.

What McDaniel is counting on is for his natural athletic ability to take over in training camp and to make a lasting impression on Head Coach Tony Sparano and defensive coordinator Paul Pasqualoni. At the same time, he wants to earn the confidence and respect of his teammates and the fans.

"For a big guy, I'm real aggressive and I play with a lot of intensity," McDaniel said. "I play real fast like a linebacker so you can look for me to come off the ball real hard and aggressive and jack my man up and then get to the ball."

Now if only he can back up his words with his play on the field.

Don't worry about it. He won't be running routes or wearing the helmet or have to learn many plays or ever call them.

I have no problem at all with a 5-technique who may lack a few communications skills or whatever.

Hopefully he can back up that talk, and we will have a very good combination of Merling, Langford, Starks, and McDaniel.
I also liked what he had to say about the workouts. He said he's not used to working out that hard. That says a lot about this new regime and how hard they are making these guys work.
