A week or so ago the papers ran a story saying Tony Pape, OT from Michigan, 2004 7th round draft pick, and 2005 all-NFLE lineman, had come back and gotten Saban's permission to re-join the team. Since then I haven't seen any news release of his signing a contract and he is not listed on the roster at either the official Dolphin site of the NFL site.

Have I missed something? Does anyone know if he is working out with the team? Will he not return until camp? minicamps? Or is this just another example of the media security of Coach Saban?

I don't expect him to start this season, heck he will probably have to fight to even make the team, but given the lack of experiance among our back-up Olinemen I was happy to see the report. I hoped Houck might be able to turn him into at least a serviceable reserve this season and who knows down the line.

he is still under contract i guess he was on a failed to report list or something like that, i think he never got cut

I read that too. Not sure about the details, but yes he was going to be coming to the camp.

Last year his heart wasnt into playing so he left the team.He had a change of heart once the season started and he was watching the fins on tv at home.He went to saban and asked for another chance and nick gave it to him so he will practice with the team and we will see if he makes it.

Yeah that's the way I remember the article also, but why hasn't he been added back to the roster either with the fins official site or the NFL? They have added names since that report was printed so its not like they are waiting to a bunch together. Is a puzzlement????

He was always under contract, he was placed on the inactive list

My best guess is, since no camps have even started, only optional team work outs. The League still views Tony as a "no show/Retired" status.

Once Camps open up, I'm confadent the roster will be updated accordingly.
