Not from us here at finheaven but from the football world in general. I think too much credit is given to Parcells and not enough to Tony Sparano. I honestly don't know how hands on Bill Parcells is with the Dolphins or if he just makes decisions up stairs, but I think Sparano deserves more credit than what he receives.

With the talent we have on this team, there is no way we should be as good as we are (in my opinion) and I believe Sparano plays a big part of that. The guys seem to respect him alot and he has our players motivated and ready to go come game time. My question to my fellow Dolphin fans is, what do you think it'll take for Sparano to win coach of the year and do you think he's the front runner at this point in time?

i think he deserves more credit here also. All I keep hearing is Parcells like the other guys have no impact.

The success of Sparano is a reflection of Parcell's eye for talent. This team, including the coaching staff, is being built with a Parcell's paradigm not a Sparano paradigm.

If the Dolphins make the playoffs, Coach Sparano hands down wins Coach of the Year. The front runner right now is Jeff Fisher with the Titans.

BP is truly larger then life (in every sense of the word) and does cast a long shadow... But I actually think that Sparano is making a name for himself the media and football world has noticed what is happening in South FLA.

Sparano has definitely 'coached up' this team and he puts ALOT of pressure on opposing teams to gameplan us... I LOVE his philosophy of platooning and constantly rotating guys... I cannot imagine what a headache this would be for the opposing coaches.

He is DIRECTLY responsible for the 'new attitude' but the fact remains until Big Bill wobbles off into the sunset Tony will always be overshadowed becuse of one simple fact. Parcells brought him here.

I agree with the poster. The funny thing is, he likes to be out of the spot light. I mean in his interviews his hat is always pulled down and he has dark glasses on---honestly have we seen coach sparanos's eyes? haha kidding. So yes he does, but he likes the under dog/out of the spot light role i think. I went to the Cardinals game (yeh right what a game to fly to- sheesh) and it took me a while to find him, he is a short fella. (i was on the eighth row on the dolphins side.)

Parcells is a personnel guy now. He watches film of players all day long. If he sees something that we can use, he tells his coaches. That's the extent of his involvement in the day to day, according to Sparano.

Tony and Jeff are a reflection of BP. He chose 2 guys who take the same approach he does, want the same kind of team that he does, like the same kinds of players that he does. Naturally. This team only has one head coach, his name is Tony Sparano, and he's going to be Coach of the Year if we win the East.

This is kind of off subject but......I think the Titans are a first round exit in the playoffs...you heard it here first.

How bout a wildcard? does that win it for him?

I think the wealth could be spread (or should be) around equally. Sparano did say in a recent interview that himself, Parcells and Ireland are all pretty close and constantly talk to eachother throughout the day.
