Tony Sparano Luncheon Speech

Talk is ultimately just that, talk. Decent speech, and I like his enthusiasm. I think that is good for the psychology of the team. But ultimately, none of that matters unless their efforts work on the playing field.

However, I am a big proponent of positive thinking. Negative thinking only leads to self defeat. So perhaps there is some value in repeating a simple message such as "we will win!" ad infinitum. Of course, words alone do not guarantee victory.
 
Tony sounds like they are taking the US against the world atitude.

We will win with you ..... or without you.

But we WILL win ........ I kind of like that.

Well, it pretty much is. It seems like NO ONE has faith in the team. He has plenty of bulletin board material from the media for motivation.

Guaranteed he is. Take the biggest Homer in here. And put him in that locker room everyday to work their tail off, then take a look at what you did last year, beat the Pack, beat the Jets, ect now realize that you don't have Henning desinging your offense. What does that give you? 1 supremely confident dude!

We have heard this talk before, time to put up or shut up. We have all heard how you want to open up the offense, but talk is cheap. The last time we attempted to open up the offense and Henne threw an int., you shut it down never to be seen from again. Do not give me a Rah-Rah speech, give me results. Show me that we are not going to be a 3-yd. and a cloud of dust offense, that you will not revert to hiding inside a shell at the first time of misfortune, and make me believe that a leopard can change his spots. Then and only then will I believe anything that comes out of your pie hole.:err:

You talk to much. Just win football games, if you wanna "win the crowd." Save the rah rah talks for the locker room. Beat the Patriots. Show us your for real, don't tell us. Frankly I'm sick of talkers. This organization has seen a lot of talkers come through here, but not a lot of doers in recent history. Don't talk about it be about it.
