It's pretty clear that McDaniels and Fangio had a good relationship in San Francisco and there were rumors McDaniel was going to grab him this year but Fangio wanted to sit out a year. McDaniel wisely suggested he wanted our defense to retain some consistency from the previous year and let Boyer have the reigns. Fangio wasn't going to coach this year and that statement created support for McDaniel in his first year.

Now that Boyer is struggling we should be banging on Fangio's door to get him on the team next year. His Broncos allowed just 18.9 points per game over his three years there and some of the best Quarterbacks (including our Tua) had their worst games facing his defenses.

What would our season look like right now with our opponents only scoring 18 points per game?

We're going to go deep into the playoffs this year, but with our defense playing the way they are I fear a Super Bowl win is just out of reach. We need Fangio running our Defense for our Super Bowl runs!!!

Too soon - the D needs only gel a bit more - this D has been good enough in several key moments….

We need to get hot on D and this team can bust a move!

I suspect Boyer's defense is struggling since it lacks the corner play the defensive scheme was predicated upon. Now, this speaks poorly of his ability to adjust, however, if this is the very lynchpin of your defense and its missing...well.

How do you expect our D to improve this year if we've already signified to Boyer that he's getting his walking papers? What a ludicrous concept.

You can bring in any coach you want but unless this defense starts to tackle better then nothing will change......I mean our defense plays as if tackling is illegal. All the dC can do is put you in a place to make the plays.....it's up to the players to make the tackles.

I mean, he's gotta realize his unit isn't doing so great... doesn't he? He's smart enough to know that in this league if you don't produce you get the axe
We're just past the halfway point. How did his D look in the back half last year? No point in not supporting him the rest of the year as opposed to making knee jerk moves which will definitely not help it improve and damage morale.

This offense paired with just even a decent defense would be amazing. We obviously have talent on defense, even with the injuries in the secondary.

Would you try to get Fangio or Rex as your DC? Neither are coaching and with our bye maybe a change is in order.

True. I'm not on the fire him now train though, just saying I think we are finding out who took over the play calling last year at a certain point.

I hope McDaniel has the balls to set the record straight with him at least. I imagine it would be the nicest firing of an employee ever!! Lol

Yeah the D sux, but injuries have killed us this year, yet we are still 6-3. The coach cant help injuries, and yeah its his job to coach players up, but this is a very young team. Growing pains, and a 2023 draft full of defence
