at first I thought this was a 7 player upper ecehlon draft. Now I feel good about getting one of these guys

1 JaMarcus Russell QB LSU
2 Calvin Johnson WR Georgia Tech
3 Joe Thomas OT Wisconsin
4 Adrian Peterson RB Oklahoma
5 Jamaal Anderson DE Arkansas
6 Brady Quinn QB Notre Dame
7 Gaines Adams DE Clemson
8 Alan Branch DT Michigan
9 Amobi Okoye DT Louisville
10 Levi Brown OT Penn State

Yep, I'm hoping that somehow Joe Thomas falls to 9, but Levi Brown is a strong possibility. We need a LT and those two guys could start/backup/fill in right away.

Laron Landry belongs on this list over Levi Brown.

I still feel as though there are only eight "upper echelon" guys in this draft. I'd say there is a pretty big drop off in talent once those first eight in your list are gone. I'm praying one of those elite eight guys slips to us.

I would be disappointed if Landry was the BPA when # 9 came around

we could use Branch/Anderson/Adams much more than another safety

I think Okoye and Brown are as talented as the rest

when okoye turns 22 we might be calling him the Merriman of the '07 draft

It's an impressive list that I like, but I have to disagree w/2 as far as taking them.

We have to draft in the first round in positions we truly need. All these guys are obviously gone after that. Our lowest need is at RB if you ask me. So why would you be happy or okay w/Adrian Peterson. Ronnie will only get better, plus he's young & healthy. I believe we probably draft a project RB late & get rid of Morris & Minor if RW comes back, but you don't draft a RB in the 1st round no matter who it is, given our current situation. Just as I wouldn't have drafted R. Bush last year.

And I also don't believe you draft a QB in the first round (IF) Daunte's outlook is looking good come draft day. Quinn definitely not, because I believe he'll need some adjustment time. Jamarcus, well he's an animal and maybe if he falls to us, then you pick him & shop Daunte, but Daunte will be a heck of a lot cheaper then any QB signed in the 1st & I think we have to address other areas first.

tedd ginn will go in the top ten,,,hope its us who grabs him

I didn't mean to state that I would be happy with Peterson. my assumption was that the top 5 would not fall to us but that the guys that could are a nice group

perhaps I shouldn't assume anything

Ginn would be nice, but we need a QB that can spot him in the open and an OL that can allow him to get more than 5 yards off the line before our QB is sacked.

OL and QB is the Phins greatest area of need and, IMO, we would be crazy to waste a pick on a WR.

Maybe on an overall board Landry trumps Brown, but perhaps more than any year ever, the Dolphins NEED to take an offensive player. Plug one of the holes- OL Levi Brown, QB Brady Quinn, one of the receivers. This team is so imbalanced, almost diseased. Reggie Nelson and Okoye are darned good, but no- we desperately need offense.
