Top 25 Players In The Draft

With the draft coming up, many teams are stocking their draft board with the players they need and many fans are speculating on which their favorite team will pick. This is the best receiver draft of all time in my opinion. Also some great defensive linemen will come out of this draft. So I did some research and determined who, in my opinion, are the top twenty-five players in the upcoming NFL draft. Here they are:
1) Sean Taylor – FS – Miami – Great player period. This guy is a baller and the best player in a deep draft. Taylor is a physical freak with both great combinations of size and speed. He will be the best safety of all time. Mark it here. This guy is unbelievable.
2) Larry Fitzgerald – WR – Pittsburgh - He’s got some great skills, size and attitude and has learned from some of the best (Randy Moss and Cris Carter). Will be one of the best of all time.
3) Robert Gallery – OT – Iowa – Every few years a great, can’t miss tackle prospect comes along. Past ones include: Tony Boselli, Jonathan Ogden, Orlando Pace, etc. Gallery is another one of these players. A sure great player.
4) Eli Manning – QB – Mississippi – The football skills run through his blood. Archie and Peyton Manning are both great quarterbacks and Eli will follow suit. Great arm strength and pocket awareness.
5) Kellen Winslow Jr. – TE – Miami – Again, great football runs through the blood and Kellen will be just as good if not better than his Hall Of Fame father Kellen Winslow Sr. Jr. has the potential to be the best tight end of all time.
6) Roy Williams – WR – Texas – Here’s the first of the Williams receivers. Williams is a guy who is overflowing with talent. It’s just he’s a little inconsistent. If he can put it all together, he can be better than Larry Fitzgerald.
7) Ben Roethlisberger – QB – Miami of Ohio – Another great quarterback with great size and all of the intangibles needed by a quarterback. Roth has the potential to be better than Eli Manning.
8) Steven Jackson – RB – Oregon State – The top running back in a class that has a three top notch backs then the talent drops. Great player with tremendous blend of quickness and power.
9) Tommie Harris – DT – Oklahoma – The best defensive lineman in the draft. Great quickness and flies off the line when the ball is snapped.
10) Kenechi Udeze – DE – Southern California – The best defensive end in the draft with Will Smith trailing not too far behind. His stock is skyrocketing and will be a better pro player than college player.
11) Will Smith – DE – Ohio State – Another explosive end in a slew of defensive linemen. Smith’s a better pass rusher than run stopper, so he probably won’t fit as well in a 3-4 defense than any other. Nonetheless, a great end with All-Pro talent.
12) Mike Williams – WR – Southern California – Another Williams receiver. An underclassmen that has the most potential in this draft along with Sean Taylor. Mike has a great combo of size and strength. His stock is dropping a bit though.
13) DeAngelo Hall – CB – Virginia Tech – A great shutdown corner and in my opinion the best corner in the draft. Absolutely amazing speed. His stock is rising and will continue to rise.
14) Dunta Robinson – CB – South Carolina – Great corner back with quick feet that will benefit him greatly in the pros. He’s a physical cornerback that would fit well in a system like Miami’s.
15) Vince Wilfork – DT – Miami – A defensive tackle who reminds me of Warren Sapp… only better. Wilfork has tremendous athletic ability for his size.
16) Philip Rivers – QB – North Carolina State – Great, great quarterback that has all the intangibles and leadership qualities. Rivers has an awkward delivery, but it won’t affect him as a pro. Rivers has the potential to the best quarterback in the draft.
17) Shawn Andrews – OT – Arkansas – Tremendous lineman with huge size. Great run blockers with weight problems though. Can develop into a solid Pro Bowler.
18) Reggie Williams – WR – Washington – Another Williams receiver. He has great size that will help him create favorable match-ups to make some catches.
19) Jonathan Vilma – LB – Miami – The best linebacker in the draft with great instincts. Undersized, but makes up for it with speed and instincts. Could he be the next Ray Lewis?
20) Michael Clayton – WR – Louisiana State – Another great receiver that will most likely be drafted in the first round. An extremely tough player with great athleticism. Related to Dolphin great receiver Mark Clayton. So again, great football runs through the blood.
21) Chris Gamble – CB – Ohio State – Great athlete with absolutely mind blowing speed. He doubles as a kick returning threat. His speed is important and will help him succeed in the NFL.
22) Justin Smiley – OG – Alabama – The third best offensive lineman in the draft. He just might be better than Shawn Andrews. A dedicated player who will be Pro Bowl caliber.
23) Rashaun Woods – WR – Oklahoma State – Quick feet that help Woods get separation from defensive backs. Also is a great route runner. A great possession receiver in this draft.
24) Darnell Dockett – DT – Florida State – Some greater defensive line talent here. Dockett has a strong showing at the Senior Bowl that moved him up draft boards. Good footwork and strong.
25) Lee Evans – WR – Wisconsin – Would have been a first rounder in 2001 had he not blown his knee out. He had reconstructive knee surgery and rebounded well. Evans posted a 4.3 forty-yard dash as the combine. Teammate of Dolphins’ receiver Chris Chambers so he’s a possibility there. A risky pick, but the payoff could be great.
