1.Get a pass rusher

I can't tell you how many times a QB has been able to sit back ni the pocket, comfortably, and pick us apart.Joey Porter is a start...and a finish.Guys like Matt Roth,Charlie Anderson, and Quentin Moses are role players.Their not secondary rushers like Pitsburghs LaMarr Woodley to James Harrison,or Bart Scott to Terrel Suggs in Baltimore.

SUGGESTION:Draft One

Getting one in free agency will not only last shorter, but will cost more,so its a lose-lose situation.I think MIA is in good enough position to nabb Clint Sintim(6'3",255),James Hardy(6'3",266),or a rusher that could fall in the draft due to the over-flowing of sommitments of juniors, like Michael Johnson(:)),Ray Maualuga,or even Everette Brown.Any of those would be better than taking a guy that alreayd has mileage in the NFL,than getting a fresh-cut player, such as one of these

2.Cut dead weight

Get rid of players that either can't get better,or doesn't contribute enough.Like for example, get rid of Joey Thomas,Alleman(SP?),Mathis, etc.

3.Get some experience at corner

MIA might not have a whole bunch to choose from in free agrency come March.Theres no guarantee we can snag Asomugha,Chris Gamble signed a 6-year extention during the season, and a bunch of guys coming out might be a bit too old for what MIA's trying to do.

Suggestion:Throw as much money as willing to Asomugha(not saying throw a $100M at him,but if the Dolphins limit is like $40-50M for like 6 years, what the hell, might as well go for it,you have nothing to lose, even though it would be very unlikely he'd take the deal,do to guys like Nate Clements and Asanta Samuel. And I think Sparano would, because he does turn over every stone, not to mention they were ready to throw $20M to that peice of garbage Pace(thank god),so I think I would, and most liekly w/ you, would be very suprised if Sparano didn't AT LEAST reach out to the man)

4.Get a BIG WR

MIA has enough 5'11",6'0" guys already, and one of them didnt even play, basically the whole year.We have Tab Perry still on IR,so maybe he has risen a bit on his play, but theres no way to tell. There might be some WR to think able hollering at,such as Housh

SUGGESTION:Holla at Housh...he doesnt bite, then draft a big WR(Ramses Barden,WR out of Cal Poly[6'5",227]...he IS the next Vincent Jackson)

5.Get WAY better depth at O-Line

MIA had a very solid line, then Donald got hurt in the first game. Then Smiley went down, and the line was horrible on the right-side for pretty much the rest of the year, but cant blame it all on Carey, when you have a guy you havent played w/ come in,your not used to his blocking techniques, your both off-que at times,so thats not at his fault

SUGGESTION:Get O-Line depth through FA

I would prefer to use the draft on mostly skill positions, cause god knows we need them.Considering we lack a huge amount of talent,we need as much as we can get,and the best way to do that is through the draft. Now,odds of us going through the WHOLE draft w/out a O-Linemen are shallow, however you can get some really nice plug-in guys through FA and UDFA

They'll go after big linemen and a NT before they get another receiver. IMO. We also need a leader in the ILB position to run the defense.

one quick thing, its greg hardy not james hardy. james was drafted by the bills last year to play WR...

also, as for the hole get big at WR, enough 5'11, 6'0 guys. Housemizilly is only 6'1. yes its nice to have size, but its more about what you do and how you play rather then size.

Ill take Housh or Asomugha, prob wont get both though. I say draft Spikes if he comes out of Cushing or Mataluga(prob wont be there) to solidify the LB core. I dont like giving Haynesworth or Peppers that kind of money for fear of getting rediculously lazy (but FAT AL is a bad man). Yea I think we should also go after a verteran for inside line help maybe that guy from Baltimore if we can steal him away it would help out alot and Satele can move to G if he has to I believe. No brianer we have to resign 2 of the 3: in this order 1. Vernon Carey 2.Channing Crowder 3. Yeremiah Bell.. i love bell so i would be cool with 1 and 3.

BTW, how nice is it going into this offseason not having to worry about drafting or signing a QB!! I mean I know we arent sold on our future but we have young guys developing and a great leader and teacher to mentor them.. did I mention Chad Pennington was our MVP this year

GO PHINS

I think our first priority is to resign our guys that are hard to replace. I would start with Bell. He is a MUST resign. Goodman should be able to be resigned at a good price with some incentives. He hasn't been able to stay healthy. Carey needs to be resigned unless they can get Gross. But, Carey is good enough to make this a dominant line.

Thomas is a STUD plain and simple. With him, Smiley and Long, we have no needs at all at those spots except backups. So, getting a guy like Brown to replace Satele would not be cost effective as Satele would then hit the bench. And he is too good to give up on at barely 24.

Our second priority IMHO would be to fill our WR spot opposite Ginn. Although if Sparano really plans on leaving Penny as the QB, this will be a waste. There is no need to upgrade the WR spot when the QB can't go deep anyway.

On defense we need to get ILBs hopefully through the draft as they will be around longer and cost less. I like that Sintim kid from Virginia if he is there with the 25th pick. We also need a young NT to replace Ferguson as he is 34 already. Either of the kids from Boston college, Raji or Brace would be awesome.

I'd say we have 3 primary needs and a ton of secondary needs. Our primary needs are OLB, OL, NT. Our secondary needs are CB, S, ILB, and WR.

Make no mistakes about it, we need upgrades at almost every position, but pass rushing OLB's are the crux of any 34 defense and they're very hard to acquire. We'll definitely take a chance on a big athletic OLB, likely converted from a collegiate DE. If a marquee one is available in round 1, I believe that'll be our pick.

In the other rounds we'll nab 2 OL, NT, CB and possibly an ILB. We probably will take a flier on a WR somewhere, but that's not guaranteed. This may change as reasonably priced FA's join the team.

The RAVENS have J BROWN, a 6'3"+/320 lb C who's really solid. I'd go after him BIGTIME. The same is true of BART SCOTT, and DANSBY (sp?) from Arizona. I would also go after ATOGWE, the FS from St.LOUIS: he's a ballhawking FS, and we need one of those, BAD.

The "fringe benefit" of either a SCOTT or a DANSBY, along w/a 1st Day draft pick and a re-signed CROWDER, is that AYODELE becomes either MIAMI's 3rd or 4th ILB, depthwise, so that TORBOR can try OLB. TORBOR made his fame w/the 2007 GIANTS at OLB. He is NOT an ILB: we had zippo depth at ILB all year, so he gave it his best shot. But again, he's an OLB. So since we could use a solid OLB to play on the opposite side from PORTER, I'd try both MOSES and TORBOR there, as well as at PORTER's spot (for depth). Who knows? Maybe MIAMI already has a strongside pass-rushing OLB on its team. With C ANDERSON providing STs and depth, I'd feel a lot better.

I see ALLEMAN criticized every so often. Don't do it. He has A LOT of talent. What he needs to do this off-season is have a love affair w/the Weights Room and bulk up 10 lbs or so (to c. 320), then just keep on developing/learning. IF J SMILEY and D THOMAS make it back, and especially if PARCELLS/IRELAND find us 1 more solid, big G, then they can try IDDYPOOKU (or whatever his name is) at T, which i/m/o is his best and most natural position. He's NOT a topshelf G, and at (I believe) 6'4"/305, he lacks the size that PARCELLS prefers at G anyway. With SATELE backing up both C and G, and with MIAMI doing little else, we could be set and really solid at OL for years.

F/A comes first, then the Draft. What happens in F/A affects what MIAMI will do in the Draft. By going after BROWN, SCOTT/DANSBY, and ATOGWE in F/A, and by re-signing CAREY, CROWDER, BELL, HILL and GOODMAN, MIAMI will have filled a lot of "holes", and allowed a few of its own young players to play at their BEST position.

And then there's the Draft!

i def agree with you about the corner position... we need someone who can shut down players like randy moss in single coverage... but like u said it is very unlikely for asomugha to accept a 50-60 mil contract over 6 years.. with the lack of free agents at cb he is likely to land closer to 70-80mil barring the fact that he doesnt get tagged... but then also comes the question of if he wants to play for a contender or just get the money... after last season miami has made it clear that we will contend next year and i think that along with being in one of the greatest cities in the country is very attractive to some vets

Attempt a trade for lito Sheppard for a mid-round pick.

our # 1 priority is make our defense bigger stronger and faster... remember defense wins championships... the offense is average and sometimes good so any NFL team can live with that but it's a great defense that wins you those super bowls... i say beef up the defensive line and lb's and then next year start working on makeing the offense good.

I don't even know where to start on this post it's so terrible.

The only problem I have with what you said (in bold print)....Sintim is a OLB, not a ILB.
