Baker and or Cherilus should fall to us and Nicks is pretty darn good as well.
Get 1 of these at #32

Wouldn't that be the smart thing to say? Who's going to say...gee I'm not really good enough to start...but perhaps in the future...

The Scouts are saying that they can start in the nfl. Who are you to say they can't ???

Why draft the best when you can have the 8th best, we should use this theory for all are picks. Really why waste a pick on the 8th best when we could get the 12th best later on, afterall it is a HUGE need for us.

I know people say this is a deep draft for OT's but the position itself is easily the 2nd most important one on the field next to the QB. We have an opportunity to draft the best OT period, if our line was better all around I'd say wait and get a good one later but we need a major upgrade on the line.

I'd argue that the drop off between the 2nd round OT's maybe less than the 2nd round OLB's but the importance of the position itself compared to the OLB is significantly higher therefore the drop off between the 2nd round OLB's is less.

Drafting J.Long 1st and say Q.Groves/C.Avril in the 2nd will have a much bigger impact overall than drafting C.Long and C.Nicks/S.Baker. The OLB is a important position in the 34 but you can't tell me that it's more important than the LT.

Thomas of last years draft is better then J Long and Jake would be 2nd to him Thomas was a pure LT worth 1st overall. J Long it has be said by many scouts he's be better at RT in the NFL due to his slow feet speed,so you want to spend the #1 pick on a LT that is better suited for RT in the NFL ??? Yes the draft is deep at OT we can get impact players in the 2nd round at OT.

Thats one person's opinion.

Otah and Baker should be switched, as well as Collins and Nicks imo.

Of the tackles here that we have the potential of getting, I personally want Jake Long (obviously since he's the top one) or Cherilus or Collins.

Doubt Clady, Williams, or Otah will be available in the 2nd round, and Baker and Nicks' stocks are dropping.

I agree to an extent the criticism on Long that he may not be a pro-bowl LT. He does seem to have a little trouble with speed rushers, and at LT that's what he'll usually face.

With that said, I don't think that is reason enough not to draft him. While I am personally in favor of Chris Long, I don't see taking Jake Long as a bad decision. We are in desperate need of more o-linemen, not just to start but we also need some depth.

Personally I hope we draft two maybe three o-linemen in this draft.

Yes the tackle position is deep, but Jake is the best. If he struggles at LT, why not just put him on the right side and leave Carey at LT or even move Carey to guard and draft a LT prospect as well. Yes I know nobody wants to take a RT with the first overall pick, but this is a bad year to have the number 1 overall, no matter who we take. There's just no clear cut number one player, it's bad luck, but oh well, that's the way it is. I think we need to stop thinking about who's #1 overall worthy and decide who is the best player for the Dolphins.

Hindsight is 20/20 my friend.

First and foremost, please post your sources when posting a list like this. Telling us to " do our homework " seems a bit lazy. I like to read any sort of explanation they may have.

As far as Jake Long vs Joe Thomas.. Joe Thomas had serious doubts as to his ability to pass protect. Now we know hes got the tools, but there were still question marks all over him last year so I think its unfair to say Joe Thomas would head and shoulders above Jake Long if they came out in the same draft class
