This is why new LB's were brought in, IMO. We will see, but those tackles are nothing to sneeze at, period.

Good point. Ellerbe had 4.5 sacks last year in limited play, and I believe we will see more pressure and plays from him than Dansby. His being consistent is my only question. An analyst, can't recall who, saying that "he plays like his hair is on fire" is one of favorite lines. :)

Ellerbee didnt have such limited play unless u mean only 13 games. He also did not record a sack in 4 playoff games not that either stat means much.

A fair point. So, we look closer to compare the math.

Dansby played 1123 snaps, and rushed the QB 126 times for 1 sack.

Ellerby played 980 snaps, and rushed the QB 131 times for 4.5 snaps.

Hmmm?

*EDIT- To be compleite, Dansby had 2 hits and 8 hurries, as opposed to Ellerbe with 4 hits and 9 hurries.

Never said Dansby was a better pass rusher just that Ellerbee didnt have a small amount of snaps last year. Prior to last year he had a decent amount of snaps and couldnt crack starting lineup or have many sacks so we shall see if that stat will be skewed. I dont think alot of Ellerbee at his salary but we shall see. If we had signed Jameel Mcclain the guy he couldnt beat out I wonder how many would be excited.

definately hope just he wasnt exactly stuck behind an all pro in mcclain but people do improve, i just think regardless we overpaid for one season of good play
