When the Miami Dolphins lose, there’s bound to be a ton of fan buzz regarding the current and future state of the franchise. Some see a loss as an indication of a cellar-dwelling organization that needs to return to the drawing board during the offseason. Others view a defeat as simply a momentary speed bump on Miami’s inevitable course toward NFL supremacy.

Give it a quick read and let me know your thoughts. Thanks!

No team can win every game. We had a little run there and it inevitably came to an end. We will get on another one shortly

Ahhh the eternal question... I think expectations good and bad are very dangerous things and that without them this team is probably a little ahead of where it should be.

This team is especially lacking in depth which is not surprising considering how early we are in the rebuild. when Jake went down my heart stopped... Then Camarillo... With this personnel we cannot afford to lose critical components... With that in mind I say it 'was a momentay speedbump'... lets get another draft under our belts and see what happens.

nice read and by the way... VAMOS ARGENTINA!!!!!!

No, you saw a subpar defense that was finally exposed against better competition. It's the same piece of **** wrapped in a different package.

Good read Hugo and good post Fish-Head

I think that Miami has been more lucky than good and that finally caught up to them. I also think that Miami has improved since last year from poor to average. Is Miami a good team, not yet. Will they be better? Yes, after at least 2 more drafts, than Miami will be a really good team.

We are not a pretender in the effect that we are some over rated team that got lucky and really cant compete with anybody.

It is clear that we can compete with anybody.

We may be a pretender in the aspect that we are not going to the playoffs, but only 6 teams make the playoffs in each conference so thats nothing to be ashamed of.

Besides, we were going to lose eventually. It is a shame that we had to lose a HUGE game to the Patriots AT HOME. But it was not exactly a realistic expectation to assume we were going to run the table after the Bills game and finish 12-4. That just does not happen.

We cant just be a pretender for losing to a very good football team from New England.

Good read Hugo.

Like Space said, I don't think we're the type of pretender that just got lucky. We have the talent to compete with anybody. We still have a shot at the playoffs, albeit a small shot. I'm just happy of our team, I certainly didn't expect this team to be this good after a 1-15 season.

If we can patch up the Defense, O-Line, and Special Teams next year during the offseason, then watch out NFL.

Thanks for all the kind words!

Not sure that "lucky" is an accurate representation of this team, especially since they've been consistently solid at several key positions and in several key scenarios.

I also don't think that you can call a team that's above .500 and playing exciting and meaningful football in late November a piece of ****. But what do I know?

Hey, who would've thought at this time we'd even be contending for anything let alone for a playoff spot? I think we've exceeded and surpassed our expectations as far as this season is concerned. While we probably will not win the division and have to fight an uphill battle for a playoff spot this season...I have no doubt if we remain competitive, stay healthy, and add a few pieces in the offseason we will be a major force next season in the AFC and definitely in the division! Heck, if things fall into place we might be able to squeak in THIS year!

I think for Parcells and Sparano the major key is defense, defense, defense. We've got to tighten up the secondary and look for a long term solution at NT. New England really exploited a major weakness and we've got to address it in the offseason if we are to compete with them as they should have Brady coming from injury in 2009. Adding a reliable receiver or two wouldn't hurt either.

All that being said, I believe next season we'll be MAJOR contender in the AFC. Not bad considering what we went through LAST season, no?

good read.

the problem with yesterday's game was the same problem we had in arizona - pressure on the qb. i won't even start on how many holds the pats got away - and always get away - with. disregarding that - cassel had all week to throw the ball. it was embarrassing. our secondary is not good enough to have to cover moss and welker for that long. had we been in his face all game the outcome would have been much different.

we're much closer than i anticipated. love watchin the fins again. slowly but surely getting some of that swagger back that's been missing for the better part of a decade.

honestly i think miami is overachieving and it might bit us next season if we dont improve in MANY areas of the ball

We are way better than last year.....FACT
