Mando mentioned this mid season before we traded for mckinnie. It would allow u to then not have to sign a FA to a monster deal & not waste 1st rd pick on LT. He rated 16th best LT by pff.

I'd love it. You're down a pick, but you save money and high draft picks. Mike James is another guy who would be a very nice fit. All longshots IMO.

oh look another bucs player thread

I like Penn. However, while I hate the ZBS and the idea of the "light in the pants" linemen he needs to run it, I want Joe to have all the fits needed to run exactly what he wants this season. No more misfits.

Yep and no more excuses.

In all fairness, Penn was thrown around last season before we knew wed have a Buc as GM. Also, Penn would be a significant upgrade and the second best player on the line. With that being said this has little to nothing to do with him being a Buc and everything to do with upgrading our line. Wouldnt you agree?

Penn is good player. I wonder what his salary would be compared to what Albert would get on the market?

So you want to give away two draft picks during a time when the olinemn FA will have the highest number in years available.

5th rounder

Freaking A seriously. I thought it was a conditional 6th or 7th.

I apologize. I thought I read somewhere we gave up a 5th, but in looking back now, all I can find is reports of a conditional late round pick. So youre probably right. I now wouldnt expect it to be any higher than a 6th. Im actually going to delete my post so ppl dont start jumping down my throat :chuckle:

He's making 6.75 million next season and 6.5 million in 2015 and then becomes a UFA in 2016. I would have to imagine Albert and his agents would be seeking something a little bit more than that. Will Beatty is making 7.5 million, Jake Long is on an 8.5 million dollar a year deal and Duane Brown(Pro-bowler in 2013 like Albert) in Houston is getting 8.9 million.

Two years of Donald Penn for that cheap is well worth a 3rd rounder

We need alot of help. but if he is a good fit and we save some money then it should be looked at as a possibility.

I have a feeling the Bucs would be looking for a 2nd for a starter of Penn's ability.

And not for nothing, why would the Bucs trade their starting LT? They don't grow on trees and just because Hickey came from the Bucs doesn't mean he gets to take the players he wants.
