I was curious which picks get traded most so I did some research....bottom line this is mostly useless but it does give some quanatative data to the argument and hopes of trading up or down. Basically the mid teen picks are seldom used to trade up significantly. The mid teen picks are generally used to trade down significantly for more picks or to trade up 1-4 spots. So I would not hope too much for a significant trade up to nab Cutler...as we knew but now there is some data.

#16 for #28,58.: Basically a 2nd and 3rd for a mid 1st rd!! Just doesn't seem right to me. I don't care what the values add up too.

I think we are just gonna have to keep #16, it will be hard to trade up or down. Hopefully someone we need will fall to us. Not many teams are hoping for anyone that they would trade us for, plus to trade up we would need to through in other picks, and with the few that we already have, it doesn't make since. Nice post, great info!

I hear you... Unless something else was involved this seems like a terrible trade. I was'nt Speilman was it.

Why couldn't the talent in the draft this year be in last years draft.:shakeno:

I liked our draft last year. We have alot of potential. Look at how the guys steped right in and played. Ronnie, Roth, Crowder, and Daniels. Big time players

Keep #16. I trust that Saban will get great value for the picks he already has. Look to Free Agency for other key upgrades.

Seemed weird when I looked at it also...but pasted here it is:

3) San Francisco traded its first-round pick (No. 16) to Philadelphia for the Eagles' first- and second-round picks (Nos. 28 and 58). Philadelphia selected Arkansas OT Shawn Andrews with the No. 16 pick. San Francisco traded No. 28 to Carolina (see trade #8) and selected Pittsburgh CB Shawntae Spencer with the No. 58 pick.
