The nfl should really look into postponing thetrade deadline later on in the season as teams would be able to figure out if they need playmakers or not.....thoughts?

NFL doesn't want fire sales because they want to maintain a competitive balance or the perception of parody. They want high tv ratings and sold out stadiums.

They should move it to after week 8, more teams would be likely to trade adding another excitment to the season for fans. It's hard for teams to trade anyone right now because you really don't know where you stand unless your winless.

i dont know why fire sales are bad, they clean your roster up, reduce your salary cap and gets you picks to build your team, works in baseball all the time, no one has repeated as champion in tens years now in baseball and they dont even have a cap, all the NFL is doing is making sure fans come and pay for a mediocore product

wouldn't matter for our team. extend it by a week or a day and BP still doesn't trade.

I would not be opposed to week 7/8/9 - It would allow teams to see where they stack up, what they have, what they need, if they are buyers or sellers.

The NHL does theres in February/March (last week in Feb/first week in March) - The Season starts in October and ends in April. Granted they play 82 games but the deadline is approx 90% of the way through the season, allowing for players traded to come in, learn systems, contribute, and make a final push for the post season.

Haha, sometimes with the things the league does, there's definitely a perception of parody!

They should move it to december 1st. So not matter where it falls during the week.. Its december 1st. I think it's wayyy to early. Makes the deadline totally redundant.

I'm not sure I could take any more weeks of unsubstantiated rumors and madden-induced trade suggestions.
