Who would be down for trading Jason Taylor, with as much respect as we have for the guy? He's a class act who definitely wouldn't demand it, but we're going into a direction that will take AT LEAST 2-3 more years to contend, barring the unlikely, which is ALWAYS possible. I have too much respect for the guy to see him at 33-years old next year, out there playing at an MVP caliber level for a team that may not even reach the playoffs as a Wild Card. Out've respect for the guy, although I'd love to see him retire a Fin.. why not give him a chance to go somewhere and get a ring?

It's not like he'd be traded for peanuts. Booger McFarland is like 31, 32 and was traded for a 2nd rounder in the middle of the season. We'd definitely get a 1st rounder and maybe more, especially if JT wins DMVP. Hell, maybe even a team like New England where he is great friends with Tom Brady, because they're gonna wind up with 2 late 1st-rounders.

I would NEVER be one to say, "JT needs to go, he's old, let's get what we can for him now".. this post is merely out've respect that I want to see the guy walk away from the game with a ring added to his legacy.

He is contemplating retirement. So there goes your idea to trade the guy. There's a thread about it already.

Doesn't mean he's actually going to retire.

Obviously, he's not happy with the idea of rebuilding.......

Send him to a winner for a 1st rounder. Win-win.

Doubt we will get a 1st rounder for him. A 1st rounder can be a great long term player, and here Jason Taylor is talking about retirement. What if he retires for that team after 1 season? That would be a waste of a pick.

NOOOOOOO...why trade our best player?

For the sake of the guy's career.

Let him go to a team where he has a chance to win.

Unless Jason is willing to restructure his contract, there is no way he gets traded. We will lose out in the end because with his age, we won't get much for him.

Goodness sake when does it ever end? I guess comming to Finheaven after a loss or at the end of the season is a bad idea.

trade his *** while you can. He's not gonna retire, he's just down because the season was trash as usual. Tell him he'll be on a contender next year and he'll be smilin' from ear to ear.

He's probably thinking of retiring because all he sees is 2 gruelling offseasons ahead of us before we can seriously contend.
Where as if Nick went to him a few weeks from now and said 'We are willing to trade you if you want to go to a winner', then I think his whole mindset would change.

If he wants to go to another team then trade him for a first. If he wants to stay on and play football then don't. I understand it's a business but some people care about what they see in the mirror. I like having a coach that has morals and is competent. If Saban goes... then screw everything I just said.

No that is disrespecting him he says he is contemplating retirement and then you and try to trade him and nobody will give up a 1st for him he is too old and has said he is thinking about retiring. I also think he would rather stay in Miami and finsih his career here instead of moving to another NFL city.

You guys get way too down way too easily. The New Orleans Saints are a perfect example of what a franchise is capable of doing if they make the right moves and have the right coach.

In case you've forgotten, we lost our starting quarterback, and were starting the year with new offensive and defensive coordinators. Nick said it best when he said, "We need to build continuity with this team."

You don't build continuity by trading your MVP on Defense, and a fan favorite.

Take what the free agency market offers and build off the draft.
