Now that Cam Cameron is with the Baltimore Ravens, if they would give the Dolphins a 2nd or 3rd round pick for Beck should we take it? Is Beck the guy for this team? Does the new regime jump at the chance to trade him if they could?

Outside of the positive double talk that we get through the press now that Ireland is with the Dolphins, it would be very interesting to know where the Cowboys had John BEck on their draft board last year..................

Heck if someone were to offer a 2nd or 3rd rounder for him I'd consider it strongly but it just won't happen.

The real justice here will be for the Parfins to cut him and the Ravens pick him up and beat us next year for all of you who think he is no good. He's on my team , that makes him a Dolphin so I'm pro John Beck. He's going to be one hell of a QB.

if he turns out to be the next Drew Brees we would just have screwed ourselves even more. The answer is no!

Considering Beck only had four games under the worst circumstances possible for a rookie quarterback, the answer is no. We need to evaluate him fully. Considering we went through (seeimingly) hundreds of quarterbacks over the years, we should to keep Beck and develop him to see what he has.

Here we go again. What many of you seem to fail to realize or not comprehend is that a steady franchise builds through drafts. 98-04 or 05 I beleive their isn't a player on our team we drafted in that period. That is what is wrong. Now we got you people wanting to trade a rookie that started his first 2 games at 2 of the hardest opponents defenses and feilds in the NFL without a single turnover. You some fans and the media was expecting more and pressured him into pressuring his play which hindered his developement. Bill said he was surprised and liked what he seen in him and I did to. Don't blame Beck for his regression. Blame yourselves and your sports writers. Bill spent 3-4 years with Romo and it worked pretty well. Their is a little thing in this league cal;led developeing your talent. Obviously many Dolphin fans and previous regimes no nothing about that. I'm glad we have people here now that don't care what the media or fans think about our young guns after a game or year or two.

I'm a Beck supporter, but the only way I see Tunaland trading Beck is if we pick up a starting QB first. At this point in time, Green is unreliable (if he stays), Lemon has proven he's nothing more than a backup, and Beck has his future in front of him. What that future is we don't know and can't really determine it from the spotty action he gotten this year.

Look, the bottom line is that our QB situation is just as unsettled as it has been for the last several years. Lets see what they do with the guys approaching FA on our team now (Lemon, etc)...Lets see who they bring in as the designated starter, and then go from there...

I read this title and I was thinking no way we could get close to the value we put in for him in return. But, I never considered that Baltimore now has Cam and needs a young QB. Doubt it would happen but a nice thought. If we could get a 2nd for him we would have to take it in a heartbeat. I doubt the Ravens organization would be as high on Beck now as Cam was last year though. Even if they were who's to say Cam thinks he could be a good player anymore.

Steve Young didnt look like a HOF'er his first year w/ TB....

Anyone who has made up their mind about Beck (either way) is not looking at reality.

OMG. Wanny is to blame for poisining the minds of my fellow Dolphins. Lets just continue to trade our rookies and 2-3 year guys and shoot for 0-16. Brilliant. I know where you people are coming from now. We want to be the only perfect team in both columns.

that is the most absurd thing ive ever heard! 3/4 games and you are already ready to give up on him... wow.. some people are amazing on this board!

Cam has to young QB's to work with in Baltimore, Boller and Troy Smith, why in the world would they trade a pick for Beck?

Beck is here and is going nowhere to we see what we have in him.

I think some of hte Beck fans are looking at this the wrong way. Personally, I was never convinced about Beck before he came, the only thing I had was cautious optimism. Cam didn't play him because he wasn't ready, and when he did play it showed he wasn't ready. Next season he's going to be 27 years old, now that's not over the hill for a QB by any means, but you can't reliably predict he'll have 10 years with the team. Seeing as we'll be taking the next 3 seasons to rebuild, that puts him at 30 before we're ready for prime time.

I haven't given up on Beck, but I'm not convinced he's really a good fit for Parland and our rebuilding as a massive lineman smashmouth offensive team. He is, just like JT, a player that we need to listen to offers for. If someone offers us a 2nd rounder for either player, I think we gotta take it, and the only one of those two that makes me sad to lose is JT.

I think Parland has targeted Joe Flacco in the 2nd or 3rd round for us. If we get him I'd definitely take a 3rd rounder for Beck. But someone must play QB for this horrible rebuilding team next season, and at the moment that looks like Beck. If he can't handle it, maybe it's best to get rid of him and bring in someone else. If he shows improvement and starts developing, maybe we keep him ... I'm kind of ambivalent about him, and it has more to do with who else is available IMHO.

How refreshing to hear the voice of reason! Great post!
