I think it makes sense. Dallas wants to win now. Reunite JT and Zach.

Its not like there will be a better DE on the board at the #28 spot.

I hate the Cowboys, but would be forced to root for them if they had Zach and JT!

They have no need for him at all. They have good edge players currently. Let's look at who need what without making hasty non informed decisions.

Is that SUCH a BAD deal for Dallas? Think about it. If you are Jerry Jones & you KNOW what JT can do & his work ethic & leadership skills are, AND you believe you are SO close, is the #28 overall pick worth a Super Bowl victory?

the one team that really seems to want JT is Jax and they're only offering a 3rd at the moment...I read that somewhere.....maybe they'll come up with a 2 or a 3rd this year and another pick next year but anyone that will give us a 1 for him right now must be hanging out with Ricky.

Ozzy rules!!

This will never happen. We have other needs we can address with that pick be it via trade or using it. JT would have to play OLB in the 3-4, and that is not a weakness. One side is Demarcus Ware, and the other is Greg Ellis. Both went to the pro bowl. Then, we just drafted Anthony Spencer on the outside to take over for Ellis when he eventally leaves. For a first rounder, a team better be able to get a player with a minimum of five solid years left in him. JT is a great player and I have plenty of respect for him, but realistically, how many years does he have left? There is no one who will give a first rounder for him.

Jerry Jones is too cheap and stupid. Plus I think they'll be using those as trade bait for others. I don't see Jason Taylor garnering a trade for a #1 no matter how low it is.

That would be amazing, but I'm not sure why they would trade for another OLB, especially a 1st rounder when they don't even need one.

I heard on NFL Network yesterday straight from the Jax management that they will either trade for JT or Chad Johnson. Jville has #26, #58, #71, and #89.

I would trad JT for the two third rounders because we can get guys who could start or play a significant role in our defense and skill positions.

then we would have #1, 32, 57, 64, 71, 89, 100. Thats 7 picks in the top 100. That would mean the guys we have on our board that we know we will draft will be right there for us and we dont have to haggle anymore and just draft our guys.

If Dallas were going to trade their 2nd 1st round pick they would do it with the Chiefs for Jared Allen.

With Jared Allen now on the trading block as-well it makes life harder for the Fins to trade JT

You also know the only other team rumored to have offered anything for JT is jacksonville who offered a 3rd rounder. Even if the cowboys wanted JT the going market doesnt warrant JT first round value. If your scenario is right that JT makes them a superbowl contender fine, but atleast pay market value... no need to overpay.

Stroud went to the Bills for a 3rd and 5th. JT is 5 times the player Stroud is (was). Stroud has a history of injuries and drug use(steroids) suspended most of 07 for steroid use. He pulled a 3 and 5. Granted it was the the idiot Bills that gave up so much, still JT is worth a late 1st or early 2nd plus a second day pick, if Stroud is worth a 3 and 5.

Dallas isn't giving up a first rounder for Jason Taylor, nobody will.

That's not true, and it's really not appropriate to write what you wrote as though it's a fact.

I don't believe you've talked to all 32 GM's in the league and asked them that question, and even if you did you can't really believe their answers.

The Jaguars could trade their 1st, they're built to win now.

The Giants could trade theirs if Strahan retires.

The Packers, Steelers, and Patriots are also teams that would be interested in trading for him. (Although the Pats wouldn't give up #7 overall for him, but the value of the overall package would probably be similar to a late 1st rounder)

There isn't alot of depth in this year's draft for pass rushers....most of the guys who will be available late in the 1st round are going to be gambles, you can't be sure they can contribute this year, and if you're built to win now you take the sure thing.

There are teams already offering a 1st and 3rd to sign Jared Allen to a truckload of money.....granted he's alot younger, but the team that doesn't get him would be very interested in Taylor.

I forgot to mention San Diego as a team that could really use Taylor.

Can you imagine trying to block Merriman and Taylor on passing downs? Insane.

Of course that would leave them with no picks in the first two rounds, but they don't have any glaring needs anyways, they're also built to win now.
