If I am Cam Cameron, I would offer San Diego Chris Chambers for their first round pick and a conditional 4th rounder in 08.

My reasoning is this...he hasn't worked out thus far in Miami (for some reasons that are not his fault) but he is still far more physically gifted than anyone SD has.

SD needs to win now and he can help them do that. I think he probably can help them for the next three or four years.

We need to get younger and a change in culture. And we need to accumulate young talent. This deal works for both teams.

I would try to work the trade where the baseline 4th round (the 08 pick) value for Chambers is 70 catches. If he gets 80, its a third rounder. If he gets 90 its a second rounder and if he gets 100, its a first rounder.

If you're SD, it makes perfect sense. If they could get a WR like CC to catch 100 passes, they should be perfectly happy to spend two first rounders, because that would mean their passing game was full of big plays to go along with LT and Gates. If he only catches 70, its a fair trade.

I've not been the biggest fan of Chambers, but this trade doesn't work due to the size of Chambers contract. Teams may have interest, but we're seriously overpaying Chambers, making it difficult to deal him for a first rounder, let alone a first and a conditional.

I think we would be lucky to get a second. Also, San Diego doesn't throw it deep very often and Chambers proved he can't break his routes off this year. He disappeared when we went to a three step drop. With Cam gone and Marty still there, San Diego will probably become even more conservative.

We 'might' get SD 2d rd pick for CC .... and they might actually 'consider' it since, WR is clearly the reason they lost that game !!!

Now whether or not they want to assume CC contract is a separate issue; but WR will definitely be their #1 priority this offseason ....

Let's see, Chambers sucks, which is why we want to get rid of him and you want a 1st AND a 4th? hahaha. We'd be lucky to get a 4th.

I agree with the 1st round pick because Chambers is not working for us right now. The Chargers should have the 24 or 25 pick and it seems fair for Chambers. The 4th or 3rd pick depending on his performance sounds good too. But no more than that; it would just be asking for too much.

I think we have a shot @ Ted Ginn Jr and he would be an impact player immediately, therefore, I would not mind trading Chambers. Another 1st rounder would come in handy also to pick up a CB. :D

Won't happen. Even if the deal seemed fair (which it won't to SD), we won't trade with SD for two reasons. 1) Cam would be hesitant to trade with SD, because it would just look wrong from other teams perspectives (someone is taking advantage of a former relationship to get someone). Now getting a F/A or someone cut off a team seems to be OK, but never do recent coaches make trades with teams just left. 2) SD is usually a big proponent of getting more draft picks, not less. They commonly will trade down to get more picks, but rarely will they ever trade up or give any away. Wishful thinking and not realistic. I think CC can be productive with Miami like he has at times in the past when he's the #2 WR, not #1. If we can get a #1 WR to get the attention off of him, he'll be fine. That said, I think his $$ should also reflect #2 WR type dollars not #1. Booker will be gone this upcoming year. Although he's done decent for us at times, he's not worth the huge $$ he's going to ask for. Hagan has to step it up this year or he'll be another WR bust for us. Welker is affordable and does all the intangibles. He should stay. So essentially we need one #1 WR. Since we obviously cannot afford one in F/A or trades, we need to draft one. I'm not a big proponent of drafting WR's #1 unless they are elite level type of players. I only see one, maybe two that might fit this catagory this year. Unfortunately we'd have to trade up to get them (which we won't do), so we might have to sign one later and hope for a M. Colston.

why is everybody so down on chambers..i blame mularkey and the qbs for not getting him the ball..he had his best year the year before and now he had his worst season..don't you guys think that cam will try to get the ball in his hands?? i have confidence that cam will be able to do that and that chambers will have a bounce back year..

I think Chambers sucks in Miami, but he might do just fine in SD. He won't be the first pass catching option.

And you guys don't have a clue, some of you. You make the deal for CC based on his ability (which he no doubt has). Last year, in a semblance of a real offense, he was good.

Right now the Chargers don't have even a "Good" WR. If they did, they would have beaten NE.

I also think some of you are not taking into account the state the Chargers are in for 07. They have a coach that went 14-2 that won't extend his contract.

You wanna talk SB or bust? There has never been a better example of that. MS has to win for so many reasons...His whole NFL legacy is at stake over what the Chargers do in the playoffs next season.

I think CC might look great to them in terms of immediate production at a position they need, esp in light of where they pick.

They aren't like us where they need help in every area of their team. They need a WR, some depth at Dline and maybe LB. Other than that, they are set.

Actually they had the best record in the NFL, so they will be picking # 31.

Well, I guess it worked with Tony Martin?...

If you guys remember we did trade Martin to them, or did he simply sign with them (San Diego)? I can't remember. But there is history there.

a 1st and a 4th? your joking right? a conditional 3rd is all we can hope for, if we did trade him though I would like to see it be for a conditional 3rd with hopes of becoming higher if his stats are high enough. he would put up some stats in that offense and we would be foolish not to make it conditional
