if we are going to be in a "huge" trade i would look for ricky and.....booker to be moved. if im not mistaken marty is not thrilled to be here..he also has a four year 28 million dollar contract..AKA he's waaay overpayed..IMO

with ricky showing flashes of his old self and booker awaiting his chance to ship out, i think we could get a solid player in return..any thoughts

and yes i am aware this is the stereotypical "ricky trade" thread...hah sorry fellas i couldnt help myself

It's always possible especially with Boston really coming on. I don't think that Philly would mind adding what would be their number 1 receiver. That is if TO keeps up his antics.

Booker and Ricky for Philly's Number 2. There is about a 2.3% chance of that happening though.

I also have heard about the trade rumors, but as far as ZBooker I believed he was unhappy last year, after being traded here and leaving his wife and kids behind. He seems content now. And he is a good receiver. But we need help at the QB position so so bad that I wouldnt be shocked if Saban and company pull the trigger for a talented QB.

what good is a new QB going to do us at this point? I dont think he can come in here and learn enough to be ready. I dont like it.

Do you have a link saying Booker isn't thrilled to be here? He wasn't thrilled with being traded last season. It had nothing to do with Miami, it was Chicago he was mad with. Stop underestimating Booker.

Meanwhile, new Dolphin Marty Booker is in Year Two of a 7-year, $30.1 million contract extension he signed in June 2002, though Miami appears to only be on the hook for $16 million, all of which is unguaranteed base salary. Booker's base salaries are as follows:

2004 - $2.7 million
2005 - $2.9 million
2006 - $3.0 million
2007 - $3.1 million
2008 - $4.3 million

he is cheap.

i only found this by yahoo search "marty booker contract" and this was the number six.

I wouldnt mind having a new talented QB coming here now and learning the system and being a #2 behind Gus. I have lost my faith with Feeley and if Gus gets injured, what do we have?

He was never unhappy with Miami. He was unhappy with Chicago. Here's the link for you:

Book it: Facing his former team Monday in the Hall of Fame Game in Canton, Ohio, is no big deal to Miami Dolphins wide receiver Marty Booker.

"It's another game for me," said Booker, who was traded to Miami along with a third-round draft pick in exchange for Ogunleye last Aug. 21.

"You can hype it up however you want to. It is a preseason game where I am going out there and getting back to game conditioning. That's it."

Booker was initially hurt by the trade, but that wound has healed in part because of a conversation he had with Bears general manager Jerry Angelo.

"That is over and done," Booker said. "In the offseason I got a chance to sit down with Angelo. We discussed some things and it was all good."

Lets put all this trade rumors to rest..

I have a very unreliable source close to the team and he tells me:

a) Feeley will be cut.
b) Ricky is going to Tampa
c) Marty Booker is going to the Jets

in return, we'll get two top QB prospects Brian Griese from Tampa and Jay Feidler from NY..

Yeah, my thought is, we are gonna get 1 solid player in return for 2 solid players? Did you steal some of Ricky's weed?

I think my head just exploded.

So we're going to weaken our WR depth by trading Booker? As much as I want Boston to succeed, does anyone trust this guy to stay healthy all season? If he goes down (god forbid) then what? We should feel lucky that we have this much depth at WR and RB. Why weaken our offensive firepower by trading away our depth? Did anyone learn anything from last season??
