I know people are all over picking Chris Long, but parcells likes to build with numbers, much like Jimmy Johnson. So I created a scenario on the most likely team to trade with.

MIAMI trades
#1 overall pick
Jason Taylor

FOR

#17 pick/Minn
#47 pick overall - 2nd round
#142 pick overall - 5th round
2009 2nd round pick

The reason I bring this up, Minnesota needs a good quality DE and they want to win NOW. With an addition of Taylor, they can pick up another impact player with the 1st overall pick, possibly selecting a future DE,DT,or OT. I don`t believe they want to squeeze this draft for players. Now on the Dolphin side, as a rebuilding team, we need to focus on acquiring as much talent as possible and Parcells LOVES his numbers. We get a quality #17 pick, possibly selecting Cason or an OT. With 2 second round picks, we target a DE,DT,or OT.....and we acquire that 2nd rounder in 2009....

No offense, but that sounds like a lousy trade.

Sounds like? It is a lousy trade. The compensation we are getting wouldn't even cover the point spread for the #1 overall (I don't normally go by the chart, I am just saying). Change that 2nd rounder next year to a 1st rounder, and remove JT, and then maybe it would be a deal.

Jason Taylor for the #47 overall sounds about right to me...

So, we would basically be picking up a 5th round pick this year and a 2nd round pick next year to drop from #1 to #17 ...

Uhh, NO..

Ok...add another pick...wouldn`t go too high or your just getting greedy
