With all the talk about Trent Green's arrival to Miami by the end of the week, it would surely mean the end of Daunte's stay. In my mind this could significantly change what happens at the top of the draft. If by chance Daunte is 100% cleared to play prior to the draft, I believe there is a chance something wild could happen.

When we were trying to get Daunte last offseason, there was one other team that really wanted him bad. The Raiders. Now, if we sign Trent Green with the notion that he will be grooming a young lad for the next 2 seasons, Daunte will be gone.

The Raiders want to move Moss or Porter. Suppose the Raiders do a swap with the Dolphins, Daunte for Moss or Daunte for Porter. That would allow them to take Calvin Johnson at 1 and soldify the quarterback position at the same time. The Dolphins would aquire one of the pain in the *** receivers which would fill a need and leave us in a position to draft a young QB, either Russell or Quinn.

Just a thought, but with what is happening with Green, I could see it happening. It surely isn't a Madden 07 trade that has no validity. I just can't see us getting anything for Daunte draft pick wise. I also could not see them flat out releasing him. It would have to be a player for player trade. Who knows, I guess we'll see how it pans out.

It's funny that you say that, because I have been thinking about DC being a Raider for the last week or so. No telling what might happen.

I believe that Green would be a back up to DC, if he was not ready to play.

Even if the Raiders go that route and trade Moss or Porter for Daunte and draft Calvin Johnson, this still doesn't solve their biggest problem. Their offensive line.

Daunte will stay a fin IMO. I agree with dolphindog 100%

Actually it was Tennessee that really wanted him, but he didn't wanna go there. I don't really want Moss or Porter, rather have picks.

Not if he doesn't significantly lower is salary. At $7.2 million the Dolphins won't make the trade weather he's coming here to start or be a backup.

This Green trade doesn't make sense. Are we not going to draft a quarterback afterall?

I don't want Trent Green, he is one concussion away from total disability, and his cost would ruin our cap, plus this team must keep moving in the direction of youth.

Eh..just my opinion, but I think you're being a little overly dramatic. I believe Green has only had the one concussion. In addition he had that ACL tear a few years back while with the Rams. Neither of us can say at this point whether or not his cost would ruin our cap, because we don't know what his price would be. We can only speculate. I do agree with the youth movement idea, however. But even if Green comes to Miami, we'll still draft a QB on the 1st day, IMO.

Daunte will be in a Fin uniform next season. 100% positive.
Green is not a threat to him. We need another QB, that's all.

Another possibility is; there is a deal in the works for Cleo and Mueller wants to get some quality insurance should Daunte not be 100%.

Its amazing that some people want to get rid of Daunte w/o him really getting a fair shot. These IMO are probably the same people that wanted to run more last season.

Miami did sign Gibran Hamdan who Cam is familar with to be the 3rd stringer.

daunte will bea fin and will be our starter and will play well.....im not ready to just give up on him

I agree 100%.... BUT, what if we were to send Daunte to one of the teams before us in the draft who need a QB, ie:Texans or Raiders... THAT could be a cleaver game of chess which could work in our favor to pick up either Quinn or Russell... Yes???
