I hear a lot of people to say "We need to trade down to get more picks", or "We cant afford to trade up for Quinn/Thomas because the price is too high"

People thinks PICK = GOOD PLAYER, and that is no true, this is no Madden.

For example:

Could u give our #9, #40 and 2nd round next year for Dan Marino? sure
Could u give our #9, #40 and 2nd round next year for Vince Young? Sure
the same for David Carr or Joe Harrington?? Never

Could u give...lets say....Vernon Carey, Matt Roth and Jammar Fletcher for Tom Brady ???

I mean, picks r not good player always, if u r a GM and U THINK Brady Quinn is a Franchise QB u gladly pays 3 or 4 picks to get him, u can find Support players in other positions in FA, u CANT FIND a franchise QB on FA.

If u r a GM and u think Quinn is just a LITTLE BETTER than Stanton or Edwards, then u stay at 9 or try to trade down and search for ur project QB later in second or third down.

Draft is not about "is better to trade down" or "is better to trade up", draft is ALL about good SCOUTING..... is better to get only one or two GREAT PLAYERS ON A DRAFT than get 2 "starters", 2 "Back ups" and 3 "out of the league in some years"

I hope Muller and Cameon have a good eye

Good Post, this is exactly what i think

Personally, I think that we should stop all of this speculation because the draft is VERY unpredictable. [NOTE: I am a "wait and see what happens" type of guy.] For example, players like Marino, Randy Moss and Aaron Rodgers all slipped down Round 1 in their respective drafts.

I know many, many people have fun figuring out what player goes to what team. There are too many scenarios to figure out whether we should trade up/down or stay put at #9. No matter what happens, I believe that Mueller/Cameron will do what is in the team's best interest.

Trade up ONLY for CALVIN JOHNSON!!!
Trade down and pick up somebody else. I am much more in favor of trading down and getting more picks.

I don't know whether to :shakeno: or :sidelol: ...

Then you have no idea what it takes to build a team. There is no single formula. The FO has to scrutinize their roster and make whatever changes they deem necessary to make this a winning football team.

The higher the draft pick the better the chances are for success, no Guarantee , but the better chance of success. The one glaring need this team has had over the last few years is a quarterback.
Culpepper may come back and play great or he may never be the same. Irregardless whether he comes back or not, he is 30 years old with a reconstructed knee and probably wont be as mobile as he once was and that was part of his success. A big question ? will always be there as to how much of a pounding his knee will absorb.
Its time for Miami to make a bold move to get a franchise QB either this year or next. Either way we go, we will probably have to trade up to get a chance at a premium quarterback. A young quarterback to grow with the Dolphins team.

Yes, personally I see good things on B. Quinn to move up and grab him, BUT im FAR AWAY to be an expert, if he becomes a legitim starter on NFL then ANY TEAM CAN AFFORD TO SPEND a First and 2 second rounds to get him.
