Trade?

Another veteran linebacker with a brain in his head couldn't hurt this defense. I'm sure plenty of people complained about Roman Phifer's age on the Patriots when he joined (he was 33 and a half years old when he joined in 2001). But he contributed to the Patriots' defense as a 34 year old, as a 35 year old, a 36 year old, and a 37 year old.

EDIT: BTW, for the record I think the Skins will have to release Barrow, and we should wait until then to make a go of him, if we think he's got anything left in the tank.

I wouldn't trade Sammie Smith to Washington if he was still playing (okay, yes I would)...but it seems the past few years, Washington has been an offseason acquisition enemy....holding onto Patrick Ramsey, then grabbing Brunell when we tried to get him....now they want to trade.....ohhhhhhh nooooooo they don't!!!

if the Redskins want a trade, i want Patrick Ramsey. Barrow is old, but he is pretty decent. Seau, Thomas, Crowder are all good, but im not 100% on Donnie Spragan...we should have gone for Matt Stewart, but i guess we decided not to. But honestly, Linebackers are the least of our worries right now.

As for Ty Law...damn if he joined Miami, we are set for the playoffs.

Keep in mind that Seau is battling yet another injury that's taking too long to heal, David Bowens (who is playing at least as much linebacker as defensive end) gets hurt changing lightbulbs, Eddie Moore is a waifer thin gingerbread man, and we drafted Crowder with the understanding that his knees are about as bad as they get. The patriots have kept as much as 14 linebackers before. While our defense won't be an exact replica of theirs, a little wizened depth at the linebacker position couldn't hurt.

I hate the term "such and such is the last of our worries" You always look for any opportunity to make the team better. If it's a worry, and you quite frankly can't do a damn thing about the first of your worries, then yes you take care of "the last of our worries" sometimes.
