Lets say we get a veteran coach like Shanahan. Would you be willing to trade the 8th pick for Philip Rivers?

The whole point of bringing in Shanahan is to install the offense that Ryan Tannehill is prototypical for.
Why would you waste draft resources to bring an alternate Qb?

No. For one thing...there is no way we are going to allocate over $30 million to the QB position.

Secondly...Shanahan loves mobile QBs and although is not a statue in the pocket he isn't one of the most mobile either.

Yeah , let's waste an 8th overall pick . Tannehill bashers always bring up how he doesn't WIN . Well then let's not mention Phillip Rivers . Guy has won how many games this year ? And we want to give up a TOP TEN pick for him .

I'll pass on Rivers .

Give me a linebacker or corner .

Why would you give up a high draft pick for a QB on the tail end of their career? We aren't just a QB away from a super bowl. RT is a qb you can win with. If KC can win with Smith, we can win with RT. He isn't going to be the best in the league, but he isn't dog crap either. Build a team around him. That is what the pick is for.

Good god....

Even as one who sees the limitations of Ryan Tannehill knows this as dumb...

You need to improve the overall team....if Tannehill still doesn't find his groove you move on setting up the new guy in a good situation.

I think that people are just throwing crap out just to do it.

Upon reading the opening post, I now have a concussion from facepalming so hard.

That's a hand full of ****, that's not going to stick.....

Monday morning... I needed a good laugh.

Maybe not Rivers, but I appreciate the thought. Yes we need competition here. We cannot accept mediocre at this position

And let me add, not a fan of trading a pick, but drafting or free agency

Agree, we got RT for two more years, lets try to put him in the best position to succeed....but we do need to bring in competition, no way do we spend a top 10 pick on a aging veteran as the competition.....
