First off the Phins don't make any moves in the FA first days, so the high profile OL get signed. Next A. Thomas goes to the Fing Patriots, and Welker gets an offer from them (but the 2nd could be nice). Third Big Daddy goes to the Broncos and the Phins release Vikerson so there are still questions at DT.
Fourth McMike is out on the trading block... I know Cameron likes to incorporate a TE in his offensive but if he trades McMike who are we going to use... there is no one his caliber in FA or in the draft... any ideas?

Maybe they know something we don't know.

I like what I have seen from both Peele and Rader but I have no clue about Aaron Halterman and Massaquoi just seemed raw last year, but he is another year older now.

Maybe Mueller knows of a basketball player who wants to turn TE after the season. Another Antonio Gates.

If not there is always next year. If we could just dump Randy's exorbitant contract I'd be happy.

Peelle is fine in the short term. He is a much better blocker than McMichael will ever be, and is a decent pass catcher.

We could also take a flyer on a TE in the later rounds-maybe someone like Michael Allen or whatever his name is (the DIII guy that was at the combine). It isn't imperative we have an Antonio Gates caliber TE to be successful.

Cam will adjust his offense to suit his personnel.

McMichael is a damn good player for us, I don't see how a third round pick is representative of his value. If he goes we will just need to sign someone else to replace him.

You guys that go on and on about McMichael are killing me. The only consistancy he's ever shown is his yearly beating of his wife.

Good riddance to bad rubbish. I'll take any pick we can get out of him.

Thats ok by me. Mcmicheal is not very good.

he is worth whatever we can get... and IMO, we will be very lucky to get a 3

on his value to the team, and the cost of replacing him, again, JMHO, but THIS is one of the best questions you can ask about a trade. It frustrates me to hear all the "well just trade him" crowd that refuses to address how what we got in return will get us a comparable or BETTER player. IMO, McMike played lazy last year, collecting a check, and THAT is why he is on the block. Interesting to me that Wes was tendered a 2, and McMike a 3. As much as I'd like to see CC on the same block, it would be WAY to expensive.

I have no idea what Cam has in mind here, but history suggests that a pass catching tight end was IMPORTANT to his previous offensive scheme. I do believe that Ronnie Brown is about to shine. He was called the best "pass catcher" of his draft, we will now get to see if that is true. To me, several scary things are going on, but I am POISENED by what happened with satan, so my "view" is still soured.

We are almost assured of AGAIN having o O-line problems and Daunte has to get behind them.... this makes me uncomfortable as hell. And a game by game breakdown of the preseason line contests were all lies. We fared well on all fronts until the "real" game began.. I was/am still shocked over that. I held high hopes for the o-line but it turned out to be our Achilles heal and season wrecker.

This has relevance because McMike had to stay in and block, something he did with, imo, half a heart. Something, I think he loathed and which brought on the lackluster play. Be interesting to see where we are going.

I think we will acquire many draft picks and get 3 OL. thats my prediction. We will get a TE, a FB, WR, and three OL not to mention that a guy like Carlisle and others could end up here. I am not unhappy about this at all. I know they have a plan in place and its not to draft Safeties with big ? who are suppose to start right away.

And if we get Laron Landry and Joey Porter, we are one of the fiercest Defenses in the league for sure.

McMichael is a player that whines and drops the ball alot. Hence forward he will be known by me as McMouth. The loss of McMouth and his salary will be just be another stepping stone that Cam will be able to use. Thanks to any team that will take McMouth for a 3rd rd pick.

What has he done to deserve anything higher than a 3rd? NOTHING! He has average numbers. Take the 3rd and RUN! I am happy that we are completely rebuilding this team. Get rid of the players that have not produced to potential. Stock Pile picks and re-build this team through young players!

McMichael is overpaid for his actual production. He has never reached the elite status among TE. There's a rumor that New Orleans has offered a 4th round pick for him. Miami is holding out for a 3rd. New Orleans happens to have two 4th round picks this year, and the rumor is that may be willing to trade both of them for McMichael. Considering that this is a very deep draft, two 4th round picks may be enough.

Considering that this is a very deep draft

How so? Every analyst I heard or read more or less stated that this was a worse draft than 2004 (which was one of the worst - if not the worst - in recent years). Better on top, but not much value after round 2. Aside from WR, I don't see much depth at any position. In this draft, I'd not settle for two 4th for McMichael.

The signing of Martin could be insurance for the Dolphins if the team parts ways with tight end Randy McMichael, whose agent Drew Rosenhaus confirmed Sunday night is on the trading block.

A source said Saturday that the Dolphins are asking for a third-round draft choice.

"I talked to [Dolphins General Manager Randy Mueller] and he explained it to me, there's a new head coach and that they're simply exploring all their options,'' Rosenhaus said during an interview on WSVN-TV 7 Sports Extra. "I don't believe a trade is a foregone conclusion. I still think there's a very solid chance that Randy could still be back with the team.

"He'd love to stay.''

The Dolphins are believed to owe McMichael, the most prolific receiving tight end in franchise history, a $3 million roster bonus next Monday.

"Good luck in trying to upgrade,'' Rosenhaus said. "Randy at $4 million is a steal. .. Randy understands it's a business so he's not taking it personally. … If he's released, guess what? He'll make a lot more than the $4 million he'll make with the Dolphins this year.''
