maybe we can talk to BAL. it would probably require MIA to discount the pick a bit (ie, be willing to accept less than what the draft pick trade value chart would dictate), but if there's a team in the top ten that may bite, it's BAL. if it's true that jonathan ogden is retiring, BAL trading for the # 1 allows them to start contract negotiations with both matt ryan and jake long (both pressing needs for them, and both players could easily be gone by # 8) so they are not restricted to one guy (gains them a little leverage).

maybe MIA accepts BAL's '08 # 1 (eight overall), '08 # 2 (39th overall) and '09 first round pick. that's a good deal for all involved. then, MIA can (at # 8 overall) look at sedric ellis, ryan clady, leodis mckelvin, jeff otah or mike jenkins. maybe???

This is not a bad idea in my opinion, if Baltimore would be willing.

You're forgetting about Jared Gaither. They drafted him in the supplemental draft and I heard he looks like Ogdens replacment. I could see it happening if gaither can play at the level he did in college. They also just used last years first on Ben Grubbs (LG) and their 3rd on Marshal Yanda (RT). Both started. The Ravens will sit at #8 and still get a great player to fill one of their many needs. If they want a tackle they can get one with a later pick and still be in good shape.

in poking around, sounds like adam terry is scheduled to be the first one to try to replace ogden. gaither sounds like he's a long way off. also sounds like the drums are starting to beat for matt ryan in a raven uniform.
