Looks like we are probably stuck with the # 1 pick in the draft but a pick at the begining of the 2nd round could really end up being coveted as some higher rated player starts falling in the draft. Seeing as we are in position to take advantage of that situation in the beginning of rounds 2 and round 4 would you prefer the Dolphins stand pat with their pick or trade down? What do you believe are the chances of the Dolphins trading down with those picks?

I'm ok with standing pat if there is a player really, really worthy of that pick. If they are iffy about players around that pick, package it if you can....drop back and get a few more picks later in round 2 or 3.

The first pick on Day 2 ( rd 3 ) will "hopefully" give us a tremendous trading chip.
Depending on who is available.

i think if you have a guy rated in the first round and he is still there you take him rather than trade down

What would we be realistically looking at getting in return for dropping back in round 3? I suppose I could look at the trade value chart, but I'm too lazy at the moment.

We could get a qb with that 1st pick of the 3rd round, so thats a bad call. Or if we go Ryan overall 1, we could get a lineman with 32, or vice versa if we get either long first, we can go qb with 32.

with #32 it depends on who we get with the #1 and whos left.
I wouldnt take any less than say 2 3rd rounders from Minn #73 and #82 or Jax #71 and #89 or even Atl #68 and #99 maybe a 3rd and 4th but they would have to be early picks since our pick is really a 1st round. I would trade the pick to Oak for Fabian Washington and their #104 or NYG for Shockey and their #95 I would have to get a good starter in the trade to take a 3rd or 4th only.
