i was just thingking about it and there could be like 15+ new starters this season and a bunch of jobs are still up for grabs, while some starters from last year could get cut. this might be the most anticipated training camp ever.

aside from the coaching, im curious as to what specific training camp battles people are looking forward to the most. Theres at least ten intriguing ones that i could name of the top of my head, from starters to who gets cut.

since i enjoy making such lists, here is my OPINION of the TOP TEN training camp battles i am looking forward to most.
10. 2nd TE - Donald Lee v Alex Holmes
Lets face it, even though he has the tools, when he plays, Lee acts ******ed.

9. LDE - Kevin Carter v Matt Roth
It seems like Kevins set, but there is a chance that Roth could relegate him to a more regular DT role if he comes in and plays like the mid first rounder that he was graded as.

8. 5th WR - Gilmore v Newsome v Bellamy v Davis
This is one of the most up in the air too close to call choices. Im not wild about Kendall, when he played 2 years ago he made more plays for the other team - very Donald Lee - esque. Im most intrigued by Josh Davis to be honest, but right now id pick Bryan.

7. 2nd RB - Ricky v Lamar
Gordon has little to do with this competition; its all about what level will Ricky play at, which might be the most intriguing thing of the whole camp.

6. CB - Reggie v Travis v Mario
Ive read Travis is with the first string, but i havent seen whether its CB or FS.

5. 3rd RB - Sammy v Travis v Kay Jay
It seems like only one of these guys might make the team, if any. Im so over Travis Minor like an old bf. And Kay Jay? im VERY curious to see if he is any good.

4. FS - Yeremiah v Travis v Tavares
If Lance arrives this may become moot.

3. 2nd WR - Booker v Boston
If David has as good a camp as he did last year, who knows who will win. And i like Marty.

2. LT - Dmac v VCarey
Pleeeeeeeease let Vernon earn it.

1. QB - AJ v Gus
Im rooting for AJ, but may the best man win.

this really isnt a top ten because i have one more - call it the grand prize winner - the training camp battle im most excited for is:

Channing Crowder v. Donnie Spragan v. Eddie Moore v. Derrick Pope
Now im kinda more excited to see Channing Crowder than anybody else at camp because i dont know what im gonna get from him: he's either going to be very good or he's going to be ridiculously good.

Theres some other battles like C, b/u FB, seeing some of the undrafted rookies fight for their lives, and who knows, maybe Ronnie v. Ricky will be on everybodys mind if Ricky hasnt lost a step.

the point of this thread is not to shove my opinions down your throat, but to see what training camp battle you are most looking forward to.

Very good post man. As for your question, I think that the QB battle will be the most exciting one to watch.

Great post. I'm also interested in the DT battle with some of the young guys like Romero and Vickerson in the mix.

Im looking foward to Vernon vs. Dmac. If Vernon can win the spot and play well that would be awesome because LT wouldnt be a problem position anymore and we could focus on other needs in the draft.

Nice post--I couldn't make up my mind between daniels being #1 CB or whether Roth might beat out Carter at DE. Just think if Roth did, where would that leave carter. I think Roth will probably start as a pass rushing De but you never know. Would Carter move to Dt where we do need help, or would he become a back up to roth and JT. the other was Daniels who i see as taking over from Pat at corner. i dont really think there is anyone else who is fit that can beat him out, howard maybe, but recent reports dont give him much of a chance.

I voted for the CBs.

Normally you'd take the QB race. But I'm not expecting a whole lot out of that. :(

Regardles of how it turns out, the QB position is the one that I'll be watching with the most interest.

After giving up a 2nd rd pick I would like to think it was AJ's to lose, rather than a QB battle between AJ and Gus. I only ever see Gus as a back up

Very good post. Really the LB battle intrigues me the most. I really want to see what spragan is all about. Plus Eddie Moore if hes healthy. Pope is a big hitter but from what i saw at pro camp had trouble understanding some of the schemes saban was trying to enforce. I really think Spragan will be the most efficient followed by crowder with his tremendous upside if he stays healthy.

As far as travis daniels so far they had him playing as the number 2 corner. As far as the safeties i want to see Schulters come to miami. Oh and im a huge big east fan and i watched Kay Jay Harris at WVU alot since im from pittsburgh and am a huge pitt fan. Hes tremendous. I really liked what i saw from him at pro camp as well.

I am also rooting for AJ and Vernon Carey. Once again great thread.

I really look forward to seeing if Vernon is really turning it around and becoming a quality left tackle.

The 2 I'm interested in are McInToch vs Carey and Wade and McKin. But I voted for Y. Bell vs Tillman, if we don't sign Sir Lancelot

I don't think Wade vs. McKinney will ever materialize. Wade Smith is back to square one with the Phins. Seth has solidified his role as a starter (for better or worst).

lots of good math ups there hard to say which one id like to see the best, this should be a very interesting and exciting off season! lets see what happens
