I have always wanted to make the trip over from fort myers for a practice just to check it out and get closer looks at the players...

when is the best time to go? is it only mon-fri? when do they start?

what can you expect as far as getting to meet any of the players or anything like that?

thanks in advance.

Training camp is a blast. I come down about every other year from Pa just to go to training camp. I actually like going to TC better than coming down for games because by late july I am starving to see the Fins in action and I can go everyday. I would definately recommend going to more than one practice because on any given day you could be stuck watching the most boring stuff imaginable while on others the opposite might be true.

I think it starts August 1st this year which is late as heck. They usually have two practices a day, they are always free to the public until the preseason games start and they go to private practices.

If you go, bring a hat or sun block. I am thinking about coming down this year but I am not sure I can financially which sucks cause this is the most excited I've been about the team in a long time.

Ironically I live in Bethlehem, Pa which is the home of the Eagles training camp but since I hate the Eagles that does me no good. I still go to a couple of their practices from time to time because they are an NFL team and its pretty cool, just ironic that I have to fly a 1000 miles to see my team when everyone else I know just has to cross town.

thanks for the info...are the practices only M-F?

No, they can be any day of the week. I haven't seen a schedule for it yet but when it is I am sure it will be posted here ASAP.

Parking is free too. Its in a nice enough area that you can walk a block or two away from the complex and grab a bite to eat at a restaurant. Thats what I used to do between practices, just hang out in Davie til the late practice.

I think in 2005 I was the first person at just about every practice for the first week. Am I proud of being that big a loser? You betcha.

I went the first day of TC last year.. it was cool..but the temperature was very hoooot..I had a hat on and a Jersey and it was no fun heat wise..They sit the crowd out in the open with no shade...But I got a chance to see everything up close..wasnt too bad..it got better as the TC went on.. The first day they did some basic drills..Kinda boring

My suggestion if you're coming from out of town and you can't take in both practices in one is to arrive for the late afternoon practice and take in the morning practice the following day. My buddy and I come from NC, take a mid day flight from Raleigh, take in the afternoon sessions, take in some suds and out by noon the next day. Always a blast.

But it is damn hott indeed.
