"You can say, 'Your momma wears army boots,' but you can't say, 'Your momma's a crackhead drug addict walking the streets,'" Anderson said. "There's a difference. We're not going to condone the trash taking in those categories."

Man this politically correct crap has gone overboard.
Ref's get nothing except not being able to ref the SB for making bad calls that can and do change the outcome of games, players getting fined for words? Man, used to be if you didn't like what someone said to you, you took it out on them come the next play. Now we need the NFL word police. Sad, sad, sad.

it is very sad... if you think this is bad, imagine what the NFL is going to be like in 5-10 years... I could imagine this, they'll be wearing flags on thier jerseys, much like flag football, and if they are tackled, and the flag falls off, they'll get called for unsportsmanlike conduct for hitting to hard.

Godell has turned the NFL into a circus and a ***** league

Good lord can we just hand out barbie dolls and play dress up instead of football cause some pansy *** commish is offended by bad laguage??

Hey Jim, you weight 260 pounds, we pay you 9 Mil a year to help us make the playoffs and throw your body around at full speed....oh and BTW, could you please not say mean things while you're in the game, the commish doesn't like when people say bad things. So from now on remain as emotionless as possible, thanks.

Anyone who thinks this is how football should be played needs to go watch another sport, like shuffle board.

And here was me thinking football is a man's game :rolleyes2:

Yeah, at half time they will all sit together at mid-field and have some tea and crumpets. :shakeno:

Goodell has been belly, belly bad for D football. :D

He showed what a meddling controller he was right at the start. He should never have gotten involved when Brett Farve wanted out of Greenbay. Right at that point he crossed the line & he's been doing his job from the wrong side of that line for more time than any commissioner in NFL history.

hit the nail on the head right there my friend.

So much for the so called "gridiron". I understand a flag for a hit out of bounds but when players get flagged, fined, or even suspended for catching a guy with their head down is down right BS. You play the game so you should be aware of your surroundings. The Wes Welker hit for example, the Steelers defender put his shoulder right into Welker's chest and laid him out. It was a clean hit but he didn't hit him when the ball was there so he got a flag? The ball was tipped and welker was considered a "defenseless" receiver. If he is so defenseless then put a skirt on him and tell him to waltz.

As for the quarterbacks, defenders have to let up when they hit the quarterback RIGHT as he releases the ball? What if he gives a pump fake and a defender lets up and the quarterback gets away and bombs a pass into the end zone? Like it or not this is why the Pats lost the past superbowl. They had Eli in their grasps but they were expecting a whistle for his forward progress to stop, which never happened, and eli then passed it deep to tyree in the imfamous best play of the game.

The NFL has turned into a debochary and pretty soon its going to start losing its audience.

I have a few buddies that play hockey that just laugh because of how much they protect certain players on the field.

I cannot wait for the day we get a new commish.

Oh another thing, where the **** is all of this money going that they are fining players each week?

If the NFL had decency they would donate it to a cause rather than waste it like they are probably doing. Its not much but when theres atleast $25,000 being fined each week you would expect some decent use of it. Along with the 500k Bellichik was fined last year. Which is another day another dollar because i could find many problems with the spygate "scandal", even though the NFL seemed to just smack them on the wrist and be done with it.

That's the only good of it, if I'm not mistaken it's given to charity.

You know.....I went my entire time playing football (About 7 years) without talking junk to another player. I fail to see how talking junk is "A part of the game".Running, blocking, tackleing, throwing...These are parts of the game. Carrying on like a bunch of howler monkies isn't.

Beat me to it GB....i actually appreciate sportsmanship and play hard play fair mentality...unfortunately, we are minorities these days

I know. I have two gears. COmpetetive, and, non competetive. I was always too busy reading/reacting, and, thinking about down and distance, not to mention the snap count when I was playing center to worry about running my mouth like an idiot. I never needed to act like a punk *** little ***** to get my bloodlust up.
