I was listening to Cowherd on ESPN this morning and he had Matt Hasselbeck on to talk about why most college QB aren't ready to play in the NFL.

To start this interview Cowherd said there is only one potentially one young superstar QB in the league and that is Luck. Cowherd when on to name other young QB's and what he felt their problems were. He said that Wilson and Dalton have their flaws in that they are limited in what they can do throwing the ball but they still win games, thanks in a large part to their teammates. He said that Newton and Stafford both have huge arms but lose way to many games because of poor decisions. Those were the only QB's he mentioned.

That's when Hasselbeck said you definitely left someone out. They guy who will be playing tonight on ESPN, Ryan Tannehill. Hasselbeck said he studied Tannehill's tape all week long and that he definitely feels Tannehill has the potential to be a superstar. He said that not only does Tannehill have all of the physical talent but that he also has the mental aspect down now as well. He said he only expects Tannehill to improve with more game experience.

Cowherd's reaction to this was simple "WOW".

Looks like Miami fans aren't the only ones taking notice.

When RT learns to hit the deep ball better, more talking heads will take notice!

I thought it was Dilfer, not that it makes a difference.

Well, maybe he will look like a superstar tonight... tonight! TONIGHT!

(if he's not benched by then)

Kurt Warner, another guy who knows a little bit about QB'ing had RT #3 two weeks back and #4 last week in his weekly "Top 5 QBs" on NFLnw with the comment that he usually doesn't include one in a loss but Tannehill's play was exceptional.

I hate Cowherd, his insight is nonexistent. He is like a less entertaining version of Rome, who I hate too. It amazes me how these guys who get paid so well do so little research.

I am not really a fan of Cowherd, but he's not nearly as bad as Jim Rome. Remember that in order to get ratings, these guys have to be over the top and bombastic. Rome just takes it to the point that you can't even listen to him.

Someones listening to him, unfortunately, otherwise he'd be off the air.

LOL, it was. The two sound pretty similar and the interviews just ran together in my mind. Definitely my bad.

No worries. All those bald white guys look the same. I thought it was d-day for a second.

I don't always agree with him, but I think Cowherd is pretty funny. If someone is tuning in to him for inside football knowledge, that says more about them than him.

I don't listen to Rome, but does he own up to being wrong like Cowherd?

I haven't listened to Jim Rome in about 15 years, but to my recollection, Jim Rome has never been wrong, Gonzo...

Why do research when you can get people talking about you by just saying whatever creates a stir. You think we'd be talking about Cowherd right now if he actually knew something? You think they're not talking about him in Seattle right now since he said Wilson wasn't a good QB...didn't he win the Super Bowl MVP? You think people in Detroit aren't badmouthing Cowherd right now since he said Stafford isn't a good QB...basically every city of every QB is probably talking about him right now including Indianapolis so they can talk about how great Luck is...for ESPN...mission accomplished. Hits increase, advertisement dollars roll in.

I love cowherd. I listen to his show almost every day. That being said, he's not really a football guy. His analysis is as deep as a kiddy pool....he's just a radio guy who has a pretty good common sense narrative. In today's world of sensationalism reporting it's actually a breath of fresh air.

He's also on the Andy Dalton stinks bandwagon.
