Anybody think he's worth our 2nd, 2nd round pick or our 3rd rounder (depending on his stock and if he'll be there in the 3rd) ?

We need a DT in the early rounds for sure. He would be an option. Unfortunately he is about 305 lbs and stocky. If they consider him good for the 3-4, Im all for it. The guy is mean and relentless. But does he fit our need, that is the question.

is he worth it? yes.

will we pick him at those spots if he's avaliable? probably not.

he's a typical 4-3 DT... we need 3-4 DT

now if he slips to the forth we might just take him for the value.

Who's the best 3-4 DT that will be around in the 2b to 3rd pick range?

Laws is probably going to find himself getting his name called in the first 32 picks.

At one point Mayock was commenting on Laws saying that he couldn't really find a negative about him so he just threw height in there. Of course if that is true I wonder why he isn't rated higher. He is strong and for his size seems to move pretty well.

Perception. Perception is paralyzing. Guys grade with their heart instead of their eyes and brain.

Trevor Laws is a beast, 6'1 295. I've watched him since his first college play. TO be completely honest, Zbikowski would be an interesting pick as well. He isn't the fastest player in the world but Prime Time was like "somebody draft that kid right now" as he ran his 40(around a 4.58 and he plays much quicker). The kid straight up flies around the field and there is no doubt that he has heart and is tough. The kid has been a gold gloves boxer, you know he doesn't mind a bit of hitting.

Read an article about how he replaced 30 lbs of fat with 30 lbs of muscle since school ended. Which makes me wonder how good he could have been last year if he had done this before his senior season.

He already graduated? if so when.

Laws graduated from Notre Dame in May 2007 with degrees in marketing and sociology and finished his undergraduate career with a 3.22 cumulative grade-point average.

if we could get Laws and Sedrick Ellis I would switch to 4-3 in a heart-beat

but none of this is gonna happen

Trevor Laws put up over 100 tackles as an end in the 3-4 last year. I dont see why he cant play 3-4 end in the NFL and with a 35 in the bench he could be a solid nose. As for 3-4 Nose Tackles im gonna reiterate my man crush for Ahtyba Rubin hes got the size and strength a 35 in the bench to be a solid 3-4 nose. Note that the 2 highest bench presses were Jake Long and Vernon Gholston at 37 and next best was Laws, Ruben and and offensive lineman Zuttah at 35.

He was a complete stud at ND. Him not being named to the all-american team last year was a joke. He played DE in the 3-4 at ND plenty last season and had a great year. He's strong enough to handle it, and has the motor to get after the QB. I dont think he gets far into the 2nd round before he's taken.
