Am I the only one that thinks the trifecta is losing all it's credibility. How can these guys keep playing Ginn. Invest money in guys like Wilford, Wilson, and Crowder. Don't draft a franchise QB when he was right there for them to jump on! I think Jake and Henne will be very good for years, but you have to take a chance on a guy like Ryan. How can your evaluation be that bad on a obvious franchise QB. You can get your OT any year, 4 or 5 go every year in the 1st round! How many QB's like Ryan come out a year?

Henne is doing fine in their first couple of starts. Not to mention Ryan has had a running game and a WR in Roddy White. And they even added tony gonzo. I'm pretty damn sure if you compare their first 3 starts, they gotta be pretty similar. Stop saying dumb things man.

Henne is doing Fine! Ryan is a top 5 QB. Again we could of added Gonzo, but the Trifecta didn't. Ten years from now I guess will see where Henne and Ryan are then. My point is yes Ryan had a running game, but there coaches traded for him then drafted Ryan then OT Baker. Atlanta wasn't crap the year before! Nothing was stopping us from doing the same thing they did. Except the Trifecta!

The Big Tuna is washed up!!!! He will cut and run if this season doesn't turn around fast!!! How old is he anyway? When was the last time he won a Superbowl? Ross needs to cut him so we can get a FA wr.

Matt Ryan wasn't a consensus #1 overall pick. It wasn't like they "reached" for Jake Long over Ryan. If anything, Jake Long was the consensus best player available for most scouts.

Ryan has turned out to be a stud behind a great OL and with awesome weapons (Turner, White, now Tony G).

Henne thus far is looking pretty damn good too - with just a good OL and running game but horrible-to-below-average options at WR and TE.

And although Ryan Clady and Jeff Otah and Sam Baker from that draft have also ended up being solid-to-elite LTs, it's still not that easy a position to fill and we have to be happy about Jake Long.

If anything, the Trio have drafted excellently...

2008

Long - elite LT
Merling - very solid starting 3-4 DE
Henne - possible franchise QB
Langford - very good starting 3-4 DE
Donald Thomas - very good starting OG

Shawn Murphy was our only bust for (4th round) but we got Bess as an UDFA and even Lex Hilliard in the 6th is a decent STs contributor. Even 7th rounder Lionel Dotson is decent DL depth.

That's a VERY nice draft!

2009

Vontae - Not sure about this pick yet. He'll have to prove to be better than Hakeem Nicks and Rey Maualuga for me. And so far he has been erratic but the talent is there to develop and we may just need to be patient (see his brother Vernon in SF who took some time to develop but is now leading the NFL in receiving TDs).

Pat White - questionable pick if only for the wildcat but maybe a reasonable pick if they really believe he can be a NFL starting QB one day and wanted him to push/insure Henne. I don't like him coming in cold to run the wildcat but if he gives us a solid backup QB for 10 years, then fine...I guess. Questionable pick but not horrible.

Sean Smith - most exciting play maker on our team and we're lucky we got him after trading down! Great pick!

Pat Turner - Not looking good so far. Louis Murphy (OAK) and/or Jonnie Knox (CHI) already proving to be better.

Hartline - Decent pick for a possession guy but upside might be limited due to below average speed for the NFL.

Nalbone - Meh...can't beat out Haynos thus far which isn't saying much.

This draft is just looking okay so far. We'll learn a lot more about Vontae with Will Allen out now.

The Trio has had some bad FA signings and re-signings.

Wilford and Gibril Wilson are their most notorious signings but what about...

Re-singing a very average Channing Crowder for almost as much money (I think) as was paid to Mike Peterson (JAX FA who went to ATL).

And re-signing Y. Bell with his injury history and age over better vets like Brian Dawkins and Darren Sharper (if they were willing to go with older vets at safety). And the fact that they signed Bell to play with Wilson when they're both really STRONG safeties.

Still, they've also brought in some solid FAs like Jake Grove and Randy Starks, and made some nice little trades in Tony McDaniel (for a 7th round pick) and Fasano/Ayodle (both for a 4th round pick).

But the biggest error imo was to not cut bait on Ted Ginn and not add any other serious receiving weapons to the offense (even when they knew David Martin wouldn't be back).

You just can't go into two seasons in a row with Ted Ginn as your "best" receiving option. Ginn isn't a threat to anyone but our team.

If they couldn't get anything for Ginn in a trade, then he should've just been benched.

And if they couldn't get a better receiver in FA or via trade, then they probably should've drafted Hakeem Nicks or Kenny Britt despite Vontae being on the board.

Overall, the Trio isn't our biggest problem. They've been pretty darn good. IMO, their biggest mistake has been sticking with Ted Ginn. Ginn cost us that Saints game yesterday more than any other single reason (mostly due to his bobble of that sideline pass that ended up in Darren Sharper's hands for a pick 6 and not to mention his 3rd down drop at the end of the game and of course, taking a starting WR spot away from someone who could actually catch and might play with some sack).

The Trio should've tried to move Ginn to KC for Bowe when he was rumored to be on the block but short of that, they should bench Ginn no matter what.

Astrosback, I agree Ginn should be long gone. I can't believe they are playing this guy! He cost us the Colts game too, I might be wrong but I think Turner makes those catches!

Ross is too busy trying to be a celebrity. What a dufus!

"I went star gazing but a Phins game broke out" is how I felt at the last game I went to.

Sheesh - what a corny sell out that stadium has become. That horrible, cheesy Phins-to-the-left-phins-to-the-right Jimmy Buffet song replacing the traditional Miami Dolphins song just b/c that goof Buffet greased Ross's pockets. And "fans" placed in the stadium doing some ridiculous dance to that horrible buffet song - totally staged and the camera kept panning to them.

I could barely get to my friggin seat in section 141 b/c everyone was turned around trying to see stupid JLo up in the sky box.

Landshark = total cheese

I'll be rooting from home until further notice and my clients/friends can try to enjoy my tickets. They may even get to see some football between all the celebrity sightings and cheesy Jimmy Buffet displays. :rolleyes2:

And if Turner can't, then fine, just play Camarillo and Bess and Hartline but Ginn is just soft and this regime said they wanted smart, TOUGH players from day 1.

It wasn't their fault for inheriting Ginn but it is their fault for sticking with him and barely trying to upgrade at either WR or TE.

I really wonder what Ginn could've fetched via trade after that Jets game and before the deadline.:ponder:

Yeh, lets get rid of them all now. Who cares about the 11-5 season with the division championship...right?

Who cares about all the good players they've brought in and the young talent they've started to assemble. There...now I fit in with the over-reactionary posters here.

So they see some promise in Ginn and have benched him once already to send a message. You don't like Wilford, okay there was no one else really availableat ILB and Crowder has been serviceable, Wilson has always had coverage problems and isn't the best FA pick up ever okay I'll give you that.

So I guess those 4 guys out weigh D.Thomas, J.Long, J.Smiley, Fasano/AKin/Ferguson that we got for a steal, Henne, Hartline, Langford, Merling, Smith, Davis, Bess, Carpenter, Polite, Groves, Wake and the fact that we`re in year two of the rebuilding process. How quickly you forget about being 1 and 15, remember every game just wishing for 1 win, just 1. Now we lose to two of the best teams in the NFL and a 3rd that is real damn good and their losing their credibility....good call. They should be Superbowl bound already shouldn`t they!!!

I'm still a big Trifecta fan. While we might be losing some games, we are not getting rolled by any means. If anything, we're all pissed because we lost some games that we were in the middle of stealing (Indy, NO)... both teams that would have embarassed us a couple of years ago. Let's get serious here guys, we're not Oakland, KC or Washington... despite our record, I don't think anyone wants to see the Dolphins on thier schedule because we're one functional safety away from being pretty damn good.

3rdaninches: Well lets see J. Smiley and D.Thomas missed major time with injuries. J.Long has been thrown around like a rag doll in a couple games this year. Fasano can't catch this year.Ferguson is old. Merling lost his starting job this year. Smith and Davis I think will be fine. Grove makes about 2 false starts a game.Carpenter is a KICKER!! And they don't hardly play Wake!! and your point is? And finally Crowder sucks!!!!
