WHAT??
The man plays 4 positions he is an all out BEAST!!!
i would love to see him in a dolphin uniform.

still doesn't mean you destroy an entire draft to get a player like that.

Unless you're Mike Ditka

The guy is a great player. Should be defensive player of the year, he showed up in the big games, Urlacher didnt. Id take Polamalu over Urlacher in a heartbeat.

What evidence of this is there? Urlacher didn't fall down when covering Smith and give up 2 tds, Urlacher didn't devise the scheme used to cover Smith. What big games did he not show up in? Polamalu is a very good player and a top 3 safety, but he did not deserve to be defensive player of the year. Wow , the media hype for Polamalu is really getting out of hand. You guys make him sound like an interception machine. The man had two interceptions all season.

great post

urlacher is always flying to the ball on running plays, and can play the pass, he always shows up to play

Polamalu is great but defensive MVP? No way

Maybe Postseason Defensive MVP but come on guys

Well thats 2 more ints than Urlacher. 0 ints 1 FF all year for Urlacher, the guy that was the DPOY. Well going by regular season its a stretch maybe but not in the playoffs. DPOY is a regular season award, but really, Urlacher really didnt show up when it mattered, Polamolu did. Hes getting hype because when the spotlight is on hes shining. I didnt blame Urlacher for the scheme but hes overhyped, that my opinion. Urlacher can enjoy his DPOY trophy, Polamolu is leading a team with a defense that stopped the best offense in football, 2 of them in Cincy and Indy, and a good one in Denver. All Chicago had to do was stop Smith and put pressure on Delhomme, they couldnt do that. This Bears defense was being compared to the '85 Bears if you want to talk about silly media hype. I dont care what stats their defense had it didnt intimidate anyone, Carolina waltzed in and put up 29 in Chicago, thats just not a great defense.

Does anyone remember he made that tackle in a Jacksonville MNF game last season? He dived right over the top of an O. lineman and jacked up Jimmy Smith on a screen pass.

Also, I love the tackle he made yesterday when he got knocked over and still managed to grab the RB when he was falling backwards.

I really like that guy. He's a playmaker.

He is good. I don't know I would ruin the draft either though. But he is proven vs a prospect.

If you watched the Carolina and Bears game you would have seen Urlacher played a good game.
He also did show up and made an incredible play on a Delhomme pass in the red zone and kept the bears in it and it also gave the Bears a huge momentum boost and nearly brought them back.
A safety needs interceptions and Polamolu only had 2 INTS and Urlacher had a great season for a LB.
Even though I thought Zach should get it.

I've been very impressed with what I have seen of him this season.

He would be a great addition to any team.

i'm not saying that i would ruin the draft for him, but if they wanted a first rounder and that was it.... Hell yeah in a heartbeat!!!

The only games I watch are Steeler games, because I am from western PA so I will chime in.

Troy is fast as you said and is always around the ball on runs. He blitzes alot because he isn't as great in coverage.

He has only had a few picks each year.

His style is stop the run, blitz, then coverage, in that order. I have seen Troy get burned numerous times in coverage so that is his only downfall. He will get better at that as he gets older because he will only lose speed, and his body will get more beat up every year.

I would never trade a draft for him, and the Steelers passed up Larry Johnson for him which has to hurt a little. Thats besides the point though.

The amount of Interceptions is not directly correlated to quality secondary play. Some gamblers (Deltha O'Neal) get more because they take risks but then likewise give up big plays as they gamble a lot.

I agree with you on that. Interceptions are not the best indicator of secondary play. But I would not say that Polamalu is the best cover safety anyways, he does give up those big plays cause he often jumps his routes.

I would take him over any Defensive player in the league. He makes plays ever time he is out there. I have never seen Sanders do anything even close to the things I have seen him do. My friend that is a Steelers fan said during a Monday night game that he was the best player in Football and I told her she was crazy he then went on to return an INT for a TD and then had another INT and almost a couple more not to mention he had many many great tackles at the line of scrimmage like he was LB. After that night I thought I better respect him a little more
