Miami Fans Hears Something Good For You To Think Of If The Dolphins Have A Bad Season And From The Looks Of It They Are Real Close To Doing So You Think Saban Will Go After Smith.

This belongs in the draft forum, but to answer your question.....

Maybe in the 3rd round

I think he won't pick a quarterback in the draft

Other than the fact that Smith is a much more acurate and mobile QB than Culpepper, what does Pep have that is better than Smith?!? The only thing that comes to my mind is weight/height...which obviously isn't serving him too well last time I checked.

Smith will be a good NFL QB. And by good, I mean better than Culpepper...which I guess, again isn't saying much.

Only if he's there in the 3rd round. That is the only way I take the chance. And, it's highly possible if Brohm declares. Cause than there's Quinn, Brohm, Stanton, Edwards and then Smith.

probably the best response but i'll go one step further by saying it would be comparable to the jamar fletcher pick when we had one of the best secondaries in football (not saying we have the best QB in football, but we have PLENTY of needs right now ahead of QB)

Not as comparable because Jamal Fletcher was taken early. Despite his Heiman candidacy so far this season, he may be behind 3 or 4 other QBs right now (taking Trent Edwards' injury into consideration). So, Troy Smith may not go until about late round 2 - early round 3.

I agree too.... sure maybe different throwing motion, different school, different coaches.... I'm sure there will be alot of hype about him in the draft as there was for V. Young.

I dont understand what height has to do with being an NFL level quarterback.
Why should someone's draft stock drop just because he is only 6 feet tall?
Troy obviously has a great arm and escapeability...why should he be able to successfully carry his skills over to the NFL?

Troy Smith could become a great slash type player, but we need a pure QB!!!
