Trubisky Anyone?

Trubisky is terrible, but I’m not completely opposed to the notion of drafting Tua at 5 to sit for a year while we rehabilitate the trade value of a Newton or Winston at QB in 2020.
My initial reaction to Winston was no way. Can't win in the NFL with that many turnovers.

But I just read a recent article that compared Winston's first five years to Peyton Manning's. I was surprised how close their numbers were. Granted, you have to factor in rule changes and how that affected Manning's first few years.

The article pointed out how much Manning improved after that, partly due to finally having a running game.

Not necessary advocating Winston, but that could allow Miami some great options in the draft at that #5 spot.

Winston, yes. Newton, why? He wasn't ever a great passer to begin.

Winston is suddenly a little more interesting. Miami could sign him for one year and, potentially, solve the long-term quarterback issue.

It would open up the draft to go with more of a sure thing at #5. Perhaps, Derrick Brown who would be an awesome addition to the defense. Miami could still draft a quarterback, or wait until 2021 if they didn't like how Winston played.

Having been with Tom Brady in New England, it's not likely that Flores would want Winston, who is almost the exact opposite. Brady takes calculated gambles here and there, while Winston has that gunslinger mentality.

I feel we should try him if we can get him on a one or two year deal at low cost. That would be a good deal for a relatively young NFL QB with some serious NFL experience. I suspect coach Flores would have more success with this guy then Chicago did. I would expect you to be on board for a pickup like this.

Consider these other reasons why Miami might take him:

1) Fitz is getting older and is near the end of his career.
2) Rosen has yet to prove himself as the "heir apparent".
3) We don't know if we will pick a QB in the draft for this season because we (the team as opposed to the fans) aren't desperate for a QB, but are probably looking for one.
4) New regime.
5) New O system.
6) New D system.
7) Roster purge.
8) Youth movement.
9) Focus on future (not "win now").
10) Develop.
11) Build.
12) Team.

Beyond that -- define it as you will.

I really did think you would be on board for Trubiski for all these reasons.

The question for me about Trubisky is, why the drastic change in play from 2018 to 2019. If you figure that out you may have a steal? I think he's still got a chance to be solid. But at the right price.

Touche!

Maybe I need to update my sig tag just a tad!

I have a nickname for the Turd

and it's not Trubiski.

But (from what I actually saw last year) the kid seemed so out of his league

I mean literally not belonging in the NFL some sort of radical transplant

or football exorcism may be required! The question is ???

can the kid withstand that and reboot his NFL career?

Nice athlete impersonating a QB. Has that "deer in the headlights"

OMG where is mommy kind of daft expression all too often

but maybe Chicago was just too BIG for the kid so yeah

Miami would be down home grits and gravy for the fella!

If we get him for free -- then

whatever.

You guys know way more about this than I do!

Please see my previous reply.
It seems I posted to your like and not your post.
When will the draft be over so I can re-calibrate my words and my thoughts?
