A Chad Pennington offense is going to rely on time, there is no doubt about that. Most the routes are going to be short, quick passes. RBs and TEs are going to catch a lot of passes, another fact I've accepted.

But what I will not accept is the constant motions, the lack of touches for Ronnie and Ricky, and the wildcat...in general.

Ronnie needs to be our feature back.
At this point in the season, we have absolutely no idea what to expect from this offense from week to week. Ronnie Brown, a player most of us hope would make his first pro bowl appearance, is not being featured the right way. Noticed i said 'the right way' because he is being featured. Ronnie needs to be getting 15-20 carries. Hard earned up the middle carries. Not runs up the middle from the Wildcat, not sweeps that are handed to him while hes running in motion, and not draws from the shotgun. Ronnie needs the ball up the middle with a fullback in front him. Simple as that.

Overall, we need to run the ball more.
We have Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams, two of this franchises greatest RBs to ever sport our uniforms. At first it was cool seeing something new with our offense with the wildcat, now all i want is to see is a 30 carry game from Ronnie. We got the talent and the beef to move the ball on the ground, we need to use it. 17 carries for these two will not cut it.

Pennington has to give our WRs a chance
How well did our offense move the ball at the end of the game when Pennington threw caution to the wind and just started slinging it all over the field? The two big passes to Ginn were absolute eye openers. They were well covered plays, but Ginn brought them both in easily. So why aren't we doing that more often? Camarillo gets passes thrown his way all game, but hes the only one. Bess and Ginn have to wait all day for a pass to come there way. Maybe this is play calling, Maybe it's Pennington, but whatever is, the more I see from our WRs, the more convinced I am that this system isn't giving them a chance.

Our secondary sucks.
No really, it sucks.

Props
Give it up to Joey Porter out there guys. When we traded Taylor, i figured it'd be a long long time before we got another double digit sack man in Miami. Joey Porter has smashed that thinking to peices. I'm happy hes here, and he's earned his pay this year IMO.

Passblocking: 1 sack to the ravens. That's impressive. Especially cause we couldn't run it and we were passing all over the place. Jake Long, Justim Smiley, Samson Satele, Ike Ndukwe, and Vernon Carey all deserve props for their pass blocking out there today.

All in all, we're still a better team this year than we were a year ago. Losing sucks, but I'm not surprised we're not playoff bound either. This ship will take time to turn around. Just try to enjoy the ride fellow fans.

I agree with you that we need to run more. But, in the first two games of the year, there was nowhere to run because teams didn't respect our passing game. The Wildcat opened things up for the run. With Baltimore today, we were back to absolutely no respect for the passing game, and all out effort to stop the run. If we are to start being a good running team, at some point we need to start hitting some plays downfield to the WR. And I don't mean 10 yard completion to Greg Camarillo.

Evan Mathis played most of the game at RG. Not sure if Ndukwe was injured or not.

well of course i agree with u and ginn needs to start being featured more instead of smarillo in my opinion if u dont give the man the ball u cant call him a bust... he was thrown to 6 times today and only 3 of them were catchable and guess wat ginn caught all of them... unless he was thrown to at the end of the game cuz i was upset and stopped watching lol

i agree, we certainly havent been playing to our strengths....

It really appears that our Staff is feeble enough to think that if they dont score first, they have to pass all game...

I'm not sure, maybe I have this backwards, but last year when Ronnie was running the ball well, didn't he get better on carries 10-20. Struggled early, but got it going later. Am I wrong on that? If not, I agree, Ronnie needs the rock and just pound the defense early, and then the big runs will happen later. However, I don't mind the "wildcat" as long as it doesn't become who we are. Certain situations, maybe 2 or 3 times a half.

I thought this was going to be who we were when Parcells and co. came on board. Listening to the "experts" on TV and the radio suggested that the Dolphins would be running it a lot.

Prevent defense will make a passing game look really good when it's given to you. I wouldn't get too excited over Ginn's receptions at the end.

No really, it sucks.
No argument. This problem needs to be corrected in FA or in the draft or maybe both.

Props

Joey is earning himself a trip to Honolulu. Something I didn't think would happen last year watching him.

I don't think Ndukwe played the whole game. Who was #73 at RG? Never seen him before, so happened to Murphy?

You know looking at the schedule at the beginning of the year, I had thought we'd be 2-4 at this spot. However, after beating the Pats and the Chargers, renewed hope set in and was anticipating wins over the Texans and Ravens. It's hard to be realistic when the team looked as if they were going to exceed my expectations.

I do not think that Porter's play is a surprise. He was playing very well during the last six games of last season, and that was when he was not put in a position to succeed.

Even in the last 6 games he was nowhere near what he has been doing so far this season.

The only part of the team I am really concerned with is our d-backs. They have hands of stone, besides not being able to cover receivers. I watched the Tampa Bay Buc's defensive backs last night and they are twice as good as our guys. Our D-backs seem to always be out of position, and there is not a softer group of guys on 3rd and 10+ then the Dolphin's secondary. We have little to stop tall, fast wide receivers...same as last year when Randy Moss exposed us over and over. What did Bill Parcells do in the off season to address this? NOTHING. I know, he was focused on building the lines first...I just hope the Tuna brings in some d-backs. We need them just as much as a solid LB like Maulauga or Cushing from USC. Just my two cents worth.

It seems during the offseason the secondary got left out. Parcells was wanting to bolster both lines and the special teams. This offseaon I hope he addresses the secondary and the receiving corps.

he simply has to. I just can't imagine that NOT being the focus of this offseason.

I agree. It'll be an interesting draft this year. Our first pick could be a number of guys.
