He is definitely looking like he did at Bama. The confidence, the throws, he is evading more. The deep ball to Waddle right in stride with perfect placement.

Makes me think that his hip injury not only physically but mentally slowed him down.

Plus we have a coach that backs him up and believes in him. It's amazing what a vote of confidence can do for a player. Tua was getting beat up left and right by the media, explayers, and a lot of fans on this forum. I'm not sure why people who call themselves fans of a team want a player to fail. Imo they'd make bad teammates and I wouldn't want them backing me up at any time.

Can't wait for this season to progress. Tua is gonna put up some unbelievable numbers.

He really has been dialed-in on a vast majority of plays. His being top QBR makes sense.

give him time…and he will shred.

when you have the quickest most accurate arm in the game… time is all you need.

I agree, I feel confident in our offense. On the drive he got injured with a "back" injury, I felt we were gonna drive down and score. Felt getting the ball back from half was gonna be another scoring drive.

However I feel like the play calling was conservative afterwards and kinda disrupted the flow of the offense because I think he was playing through a concussion. Dude looked totally rocked when he was pulled from the game.

I think all of this is due to a few factors.

First, he's another year away from the hip injury. I don't think you can understate how devasting something like that is.

Second, he has an actual NFL caliber team around him. Gone are the days of injury prone wide receivers going in and out of the lineup, ensuring that he had a different tandem to work with almost every week. We see, watching Brady and Rodgers yesterday, how important it is for a quarterback to have consistent pass catchers. We also had an offensive line that ranked worst in the NFL. Think about that. They were so bad that Cincinnati was ranked ahead of them. That's saying something

Third, I think COVID played a factor in his development. Contact was limited, meetings were done remotely, and things were invariably more difficult both for him and the coaching staff.

And finally, he has a coach who understands offense inside and out and, like his receiving corps, is actually going to stick around.

Good for Tua. Better for us.

continue to build this o-line to protect tua, hes playing with confidence right now and looks good...that throw to waddle on 3rd and 22 was 50 yards in the air on the money when we needed it badly

of course he needs to clean stuff up, cut down on some of the bad decisions but the past 2 weeks have been encouraging
