Tua is not that guy

It almost seems like Tua is concerned with his completion % more than winning. Instead of making some risky passes to keep us in the game, he kept checking down or taking sacks. Even in that last drive, instead of airing out a pass, he checked down for 4 yards to end the game. LOL.

Jack Browning led the league in completion % last year, and Geno Smith the year before that. When you make safe throws, you'll get a lot of completions. Tua LAST in the league right now in attempted air yards per pass attempt.
Ok, that was in response to someone saying Tua was inaccurate last night, when the factual reality is that he was and has been historically accurate.

Do you think Tua’s air yards per pass is a result of a sudden deficiency he has this year, or is it because of the new offensive scheme Miami has employed over the past 6 games?

As far as keeping Miami in the game is concerned, Miami has been in every game since he’s come back from the IR except for Green Bay. The other 2 losses were on last play field goals.

I get it. And it’s kind of my point. It’s a team game. The QBs whose teams have historically over-relied usually didn’t get it done - or when they did it was a flash in the pan. Peyton only won 1 w the Colts. In this era that’s an epic fail for the org. Elway was trounced in 3 SBs when he was at the peak of his career. He got 2 at the end as an old and decrepit player who finally put a great team around him. And the list goes on. I’m stating that to expect any QB other than one of those guys to somehow compensate for how atrocious the team was last night is unrealistic. And it’s not sustainable anyway.
Oh, we see a lot of average QBs winning the Super Bowl? I'll spot you Trent Dilfer but there are 10 Mahomes, Tom Bradys, Peyton and Eli Mannings, Aaron Rodgers, and Brett Favres
Peyton won 2 SBs with two different teams. so no epic fail there I'd gladly take 1 SB, damn one playoff win but we don't have the team, coach, GM or QB to accomplish that right now

and don't pretend like last night was a one off. we play badly in almost every big game we play and Tua, imo, is more a part of the problem than the solution

Say what you want with the defense being trashed. We expected the defense being trash but seeing Tua laughing when you can only muster 3 points in a half just shows that he doesn’t have the killer instinct to lead a team. As you can see, when they are not the first team to score, they fold worse than a lawn chair. No one on this team has any heart. This team as constructed needs to go.
Tua was never going to be "the guy", no matter how much spin was put out there its obvious to anyone who has played this game. Teammates know it, opponents know it, Flores (for all his faults saw it).

When a guy like Tua beats your team, you're frustrated because you just know deep in your bones that he shouldn't been able to do it without a superior supporting cast. He isn't going to be the guy like (Josh Allen) who just can put a team on his shoulders and make play after play.

People have talked crap about Kirk Cousins for years, tell me, what is really difference between them? When things are going well, they are decent to good QBs, however when things are bad, what generally happens?

All this for 50M....and the #5 over pick.

Tua is always going to be accurate. It's kind of his thing, but I think the weather impacted him early on.

It's certainly not a sudden deficiency. I think the big air yard attack of previous seasons was all about anticipation and getting the ball out quickly. However, that's easily countered by defenses. This is just the new reality of the offense under Tua. It's just not very explosive. The 3rd quarter I think is a good example. GB was up bigi. They allowed Tua to scalpel short passes for completions. This looks good on the stats page. That passer rating and completion %. However, that's not what they needed down 27-3. They couldn't afford eating a whole quarter and score only one TD.

Brett Farve was awesome

So everyone saw the Chiefs game right...

Samuel L Jackson Point GIF by The Academy Awards

Sometimes winning is more than X's and O's and Joe's vs Pro's.

The Chiefs organization, like the Steelers, Ravens, Eagles, Packers and a couple others have an almost supernatural way of always winning 10+ games. Like it's in their DNA.

Today's Chiefs game was a perfect example of this. Call it culture or instinct or mojo or luck, whatever you call it, they simply have something the Raiders, Dolphins, Jets, Bears, Browns, ect. don't have.

But when you pull back a few layers of the onion, you'll realize that these "winning culture" teams have something that we havnt had in 30 years... Intelligent football people at the top.

Ross isn't intelligent, in a football sense, we can all agree on this right?
Uh Huh Yes GIF by 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment

So when your GM is Chris Grier, were in a blind leading the blind type situation.

I think Ross could be a championship owner, I don't think he's far off from what Robert Kraft is, but he's gotta find a GM that can build a COMPLETE roster and find a GREAT coach.

Look at the list of the winning culture teams and you'll notice, most of them have a great, if not hall of fame coach.

Thats why I'm so over the Tua talk today, this problem (Chris Grier) is dug into the organization like a tick. He's been here for 20 years sucking the blood and life out of this franchise.

We need to take this collective anger on both sides and focus it on constructive ways to send a message to Dolphins ownership.

If we keep buying Tua jerseys, Merchandise, Going to games, buying hotdogs and only taking out our frustrations on each other, what reason does Ross have to listen to us?

I should be the most angry at Ross, Grier and McDaniel today. Not Tuas rag-tag group of loyal defenders.

I'll let you in on a little secret. There is a very good chance the next GM will want to give Tua at least a couple years playing with a new coach due to the talents he has shown.

So, like I've said all day, talking about Tua should not be the discussion.

What the **** can we do to send a message, that were tired of being embarrassed by the team we love!

Only a few have won it but a whole bunch of average QBs have made it to the SB.

Of the big three QB, Coach, or Gm right now I place the most blame this season on coaching.

I think they were in the Packers game too.

I don't think Tua and Miami played as bad as we feel like they did, however they earned all of the doubt and critics they're facing.
