Tua is the answer- now get a running game.

The answer?

If you need a running game for your QB to be effective he's not the answer. Not saying that's the case for Tua, but a good QB can still score points consistently without a good running game.

Lol yes lets play like it's the 70s and ignore all the rule changes and advantages passing has over running.
Tannehill says otherwise.

every top offense has some form of a running game to compliment the passing game

Tampa Bay
Baltimore * QB
Dallas
Buffalo *QB
San Diego
Cleveland
You really telling me that if we replaced Eckler, Fournette, Singletary, whatever running back the ravens have with Gaskins those offenses drop all that much or at all? Gaskins is averaging 4.9 yards per rush and had 10 damn catches on Sunday. RB is the least of my worries on this team.

Same rbs we have will do....we need a oline to go along with it. Gaskin and ahmed are way above average. Just get a nasty oline. Because the retreads we have for an oline wont do.

Edelman and Wes Welker were basically running back/WRs in the slot position..it was just a quick forward handoff that is why Brady has lasted so long.
absolutely! and add tightend/s too, a qb best friend

Austin Jackson and Liam's strength in college and actually in the NFL is run blocking not pass blocking so play to their strengths.
This is something that our front office should have been doing from the get go. It's like common sense.

In addition, everyone knows when you have a young QB, you should help support him with a solid running game and a good defense to keep you in games. We've neglected the running back position for 2 years now in the draft, not to mention we almost all but abandoned the run this season. Its mind boggling. Also the run game keeps defenses honest and helps the passing game.

O.C.'s gotta go! No question.

Amen brother!!

Please read this thread clearly be objective no Tua bashing please

Dolphins need to start to focus on getting a solid to dominate the running game and not just Focus on Tua. Why see the list below.

1. It helps your passing game be less predictable
2. It helps with a time of possession which helps your defense
3. It keeps opposing Qbs off the field
4 It allows you to dictate the pace of the game specially on the road as crowd noise becomes less of a factor
5. It establishes physical dominance and can create an identity for the team as a whole.
6. It also fits our coaches philosophy

Now let's not waste years trying to find the next Tom Brady we should roll with Tua and in next years draft do whatever we got to do to get a solid running back and an additional O lineman
Austin Jackson and Liam's strength in college and actually in the NFL is run blocking not pass blocking so play to their strengths. We need to get a mauler left guard as well in next year's draft.
Ryan Tannehill is doing a lot better in Tennessee with a solid running back and run-oriented offensive line. Tua's accuracy and quick release will make him a perfect fit for this run-first system.
Our greatest years were when we had a great running game with Larry Csonka and Mercury Morris and Griese as the complimentary quarterback.
It's time to look to our great past in the early '70s maybe there is our answer.
3 yards and a cloud of dust till you need a 2 minute drive at the end and then what? put fitz in?

Gaskin, is doing fine. But to have a running game, you need to actually run the ball. Its hard to run the ball when you are down 20 points. RBs are great for resting your D and burning clock. Not something you need when the clock is your enemy.

Agree. Key word is "helps"
When you look at it their offense was always well coached (of course Brady was almost the OC), had very few stud wr's although at times he certainly did and run of the mill rbs (usually). What he had was studs at outlets Amendola, Welker, and company and beautiful tightends mainly Gronk but there were others. These guys bailed the O out often especially 3rd downs or big moments. Granted, Brady controlled it and nobody was finer at it.

The majority (national media included) believe Tua is still a unknown whether he is the answer for us at QB. The 2nd largest group (Some fins fan and a lot of other NFL fans) believe they have seen enough and that he isn't good enough. Not sure why you believe he has shown enough to proclaim he is our guy. So far, he's had more mediocre/bad games than good games.
