Tua Maturation

Video does show something that was fundamentally wrong with the scheme last year. We just didn't create easy throws... and that was with Fitz too. There was a lot of needing circus catches and relying on guys to consistently win against their man.

Poor route combos and "forgetting" defensive play callers specific coverage tendencies cost us big.

Thanks Chan.

But also, higher level QB play + speed and separation makes things look "easier".

Combination of all of these elements.

Correct. Like I will always say if you want to criticize Tua for anything from last year it was that he was sometimes a little slow getting the ball out (showed against Vegas and New England... cost us a TD against New England) and that he needed to realize the windows were smaller in the NFL. Which again both of those are normal for rookies.

I mentioned before how you need motion in today's NFL but you so need combo routes and rub routes. You need things in the passing game that makes the defense work. I know at least 2 different teams talked about how it was easy to defend our offense because we just didn't make defenses guess or work. It was very much if we were in this set we are doing this

Honorable mention to stretching the defense horizontally as well.

We are planning your motion and to force the defense to cover the entire field. The Falcons game continued to reflect that.

Should mean good things for RPO, Tua getting rid of the rock quick and will allow our speed to impact.
