New breed?

Who are the new breed QB's that have to rely on their legs because they can't read a defense?

:munch:

All these guys extend plays with their legs hoping the D breaks down so they exploit ~ How many of these guys breakdown the D fense before the ball is snapped?? Some like R Wilson are a lot prettier than J Allen (EDIT: Using ones legs to extend plays does not mean running QB)

These guys depend on their legs A LOT if not exclusively

J Allen
Darnold
Lamar
Cam Newton
Watson
Mahomes
Russell Wilosn
Kyler Murray
Colin Kapernick
Ryan Fitzpatrick -> Mr Broken down play escape artist
Brissett

These guys do not depend on their legs nearly as much but they have varying levels of success reading a D pre and post snap

Tom Brady
Aaron Rodgers
Drew Brees
Matt Ryan
Philip Rivers
Ben Rothlesberger -> he used to depend on his legs more
Andy Dalton
Matt Stafford
Cousins
Tannehill
Foles
Keenum
Andrew Luck -> he tried to stay in pocket to read D post snap, stepped up in pocket and took a beating for it over time

I guarantee there will be stories about how technical difficulties messed up teams' drafts.
Yeah, the bad teams that will use that as an excuse. Get ready to hear Grier use the excuse of the pandemic as a reason he didn't take Tua.

Adam Shefter already said it may affect the amount of trades we see in the first round compared to years past. Players may fall that arent expected to and the team not only has to communicate with their staff from different locations but also try and communicate with other teams and their staff from different locations. It could absolutely take longer to work out a trade in time before another team swoops in or whoever is on the clock just turns in their pick before time runs out.
Why would that be the case? It's not like all the teams are sitting in the same room during a normal year. Why should it be any harder this year when you would be doing exactly what you would be doing every other year? You pick up the phone and get ahold of the team in their location and say "do you want to make a trade?". Most of the trades that occur in the early part of the draft the parameters of the deal are worked out before the draft anyway.

“It’s not just his hip,” Lombardi said. “It’s his ankle. It’s his wrist. He broke his wrist the first day of spring ball one year. And then they fixed it. He came back and broke it again. He’s brittle. He is brittle. You can’t deny it.”

no, no you can't. i think he drops out of the top 10 and a contender trades up for him with the intention of a red shirt year or 2.

Good. I mean it sucks for his future, but if he cant stay healthy behind an elite OL, ehat makes you think he will in nfl?

Yet numerous studies say differently. They are posted in the Tua thread which discusses the injury probability for players, the types of injuries, for players who were previously injured.

Most were only 10 percent more likely to be injured than those who were not injured before.

Biggest issues deal with chronic muscle issues in the lower extremities. Ankles were one of the lowest future issues as were hip injuries. Broken bones are really no issue the same with upper extremity injuries with the exception of shoulder injuries for QBs.
