The Dolphins have also signed 12 undrafted college free agents: Linebacker Akil Blount, linebacker James Burgess, center/guard Ruben Carter, long snapper Ryan DiSalvo, linebacker Tyler Gray, safety A.J. Hendy, tight end Gabe Hughes, defensive end Farrington Huguenin, kicker Marshall Koehn, cornerback Lafayette Pitts, wide receiver Rashawn Scott and wide receiver Brandon Shippen.

Looks like no camp holdout for Tunsil. Good news.

Well I can honestly say I DON'T miss the days before the rookie cap...makes this stuff go by so much friggin quicker :brewskis:

If he makes any kind of noise, the media is probably ready to pounce on him; he probably knows that, and Miami probably knows that too.
He'd be smart to just keep everything smooth-sailing this season (and hopefully every season).

Was a little bit worried Tunsil would try to hold out for money or a contract structure that reflected where his draft stock was the day before the draft. Glad that was avoided.

It's also much easier to negotiate with rookies since there's a rookie pay scale and a template for signing. Multiple first round picks have already signed with their teams.

Isn't there something in rookie contracts that can be negotiated that can cause a hang up? I thought it had something to do with their guaranteed money if they are let go or something like that.

The irony. They should have paid him sit your ass on the bench money. This dude has stolen money and draft picks from this organization.

why do rookies hold out for money? they haven't played a down in the NFL yet expect to make top dollar? gimme a break. Only in America.

Well, they don't anymore...it more about the language in the contract...

Also, why is it a negative thing for someone to try to get more money when their value is at a high level? Businesses do this all the time...even with unproven entities, but a player does this (again this is a person who doesn't get to pick his employer) and somehow that is a bad thing?

Any contract details?

They are slotted, so financially I would look at the 2014/2015 13th picks, see what the increase was and use that percentage to factor what Tunsil got.

Where teams can try to get creative is with terms. Like attempting to put certain injury clauses, or drug suspension clauses, etc.

The only sticking point until a couple of seasons ago was "offset" language. The Dolphins were one of the first teams to implement this language now every team uses it.

Offset

guard :bobdole:

but glad to see his deal was sorted quickly
