According to Saban, Turley caught the ball well.
According to Saban, Hagan caught the ball decently well.

I'm not sure what this means, but I thought it was funny.

I dont know really which is better, but Turley would play as a TE and Hagan as a WR, so there's no comparisson points due to a different roles and different type of catches...

I dunno. You either catch the ball or you don't.

Ask C. Chambers about this one. He either:

1. Makes a circus catch;
2. Catches the ball with his body, not his hands; or
3. Drops the damn thing!

That is Saban's way of saying something without saying anything.
Go Saban!!!!!

I was puzzled by that comment too.I am not going to read anything into it.........yet.

Turley won't make the team and Saban was being kind. Hagan is a rookie and Saban didn't want him to get a big head on his shoulders and think he has it made and doesn't have to prove himself.

Nick trys to never heap too much praise on rookies. I believe this was his attempt to keep some pressure on the rookie and make sure he's concentrating on every play at the same time, getting the word out there that Turley is really working and performing well so that if WE don't end up keeping him on the roster, some other team might "hear" that he performed well at our camp and give Kyle a chance on signing on elsewhere.

Thats exactly what I said, only better :D good post

I think the main thing we can read into it is that it means absolutely nothing.

No doubt a 3rd round WR draft pick and a converted OT playing TE are going to have their catching performance judged with different standards. So "decently well" for Hagan was still probably a whole lot better than "well" for Turley.
