Twitter speculation - Dolphins Listening To Trade Offers For Landry

this has been floating around dolphin twitter, but fake news. just a guy with a radio show trying to get clicks/attention..

Jarvis will not be traded.

This wont happen anytime soon. Landry is the leader of our offense. 0% chance. Landry has everything that Gase loves in a player.

I could see Parker being traded before Landry.

I'd want 4 first round picks and one guaranteed in the top 5...yeah I value him that much. In other words, I'll be furious if this ever happens. Sounds like a fake news CNN type story though.

It would alienate every Dolphin fan. We finally found a stud WR who needs to be a Dolphin for his career and we trade him.
I'll throw up in disgust. Stills isn't half the player Jarvis is. Let Stills walk and find another 3rd Receiver

Give me Luke Kueheley. That's the kind of value I need in return

Before I yell fake, if Miami is offered a first round pick for Jarvis Landry (hell lets say top 40) . . . . they would be insane not to take it. And truth be told, it makes the Carroo pick make a hell of a lot more sense than it does now (and makes offering Kenny a contract extension make more sense).

I know it is frowned upon to like Leonte Carroo . . . . but the guy has the attitude, the hands, position flexibility and more speed than Jarvis. He's an ideal replacement and you already have him on the team for 3 cheap seasons. Then you can resign Kenny Stills.

But this quote

but the fact that Landry hasn't been extended yet is a sign that Miami could first be weighing their options.

really means nothing. So what he hasn't been extended. There is no rush. Why haven't really any teams extended a 5th year option? Why hasn't Derek Carr or Allen Robinson been given contract extension being that they are 2nd rounders from that same draft. It is not a priority right now. You got Combine, FA and draft. Landry is under contract and he'll become a priority after the June 1st cuts, just like most guys in his position.

Trading Landry is the type of move that New England would do, but they have a track record of knowing what to do. Does Adam Gase and this front office have the cajones to trade away arguably the most popular player on the team and feel confident it is for the better of the team because of drafted assets and salary cap, without taking a huge hit on the field.

We'll see.

Wouldn't surprise me at all. Don't misunderstand me, I love the guy and would hate to see it happen. However, with the trade for Thomas, Landry's targets are likely to drop. Especially if Parker emerges this season. If they resign Stills in the 10 mil range it becomes problematic to extend Landry with a similar contract.
